I also just remembered that if you beat the game with every character in wwf wrestlemania the arcade game onn wwf championship mode you can unlock adam bomb as a character and unlock undertaker's fatality like the arcade.

I remember I tried it, got ABABAA, gave up for a month, tried again, got ABABAS, nothing happened. Sadness...

I remember telling a bud of mine in middle school about the cheat mode/debug mode in Star Wars: Shadow of the Empire. Needless to say, he didn't believe me when I first told him, and called me a liar for like a week. He came to my house, saw me do the cheat, ran home, called me and asked me how to do it.

For those that don't know what I'm talking about, here is the code from Gamefaqs:

Start a new game on Medium difficulty. Call it .Wampa..Stompa (Case sensitive). Start in a level and as soon as it starts press pause. Now press and hold all at once C up, C right, C down, C left, L, R, Z and Left on the d-pad. While holding these down gently move the control stick left halfway, and hold all this until you hear a sound. Do the same thing with the joystick facing right, then left, right and finally left. Make sure you keep the other buttons held down during this time.

Sad enough, that IS a real code.

Reminds me of a joke that my brother told me while I was playing Punch-Out, he joked for the fact that somehow one of the programers actually set up a timer in the game, and if you knock him down enough times with every playthough, you would get the thinking he is down for good like every other 5000 times you play it, but he would get up on 9, pretty much catching you off guard, you would be like "oh what!? what the hell!!?? that never happened before!!!!!"

Kids wouldn't have sounded as cool if they went around quoting the 68000's clock speed. Though I wish the "68000 HEART ON FIRE" quote from Alien Soldier would have caught on. That's so much more bad ass than "blast processing" and pretty much defines my love of the Genesis in one warm, fuzzy statement.

Most of them specified unrealistic requirements in order to unlock such as beating the game on very hard with one life and no continues in less than 20 minutes with Jigglypuff, to ensure that the fraud was never exposed.

I never believed them but probably the "See Samus totally naked" in every game she appeared in including Super Smash Brothers where I was told if you pause the screen at the right time when she's being electrocuted you see her naked.

There's actually some truth to that one (only in the first Smash Bros). For just a second after electric attacks hit Samus her suit becomes transparent and you can see her skin. Of course, there aren't really any textures or anything so it's not that scandalous.
