Still better than tea bags, but their prices are a bit high for what you get. But what do you expect from a retail chain for tea? There aren't many others that I know of in the US. I don't know of any others close to me.

At the same time, you can order online, but you never know what you're going to get if you are trying a new website. And most will only give a good discount if you're purchasing a high enough quantity.

yeah, well their herbal junk is definitely low quality, but I don't go for any of that. The only other one I will buy from them is the Gyokuro Japanese Green once in a while. Luckily I found a local place that has the teas I want for lower price, but you're right, there aren't a lot of options. Try and avoid buying online for the reason you pointed out. Wish tea was more prevalent as coffee is in the US.

Only reason I get coffee nowadays is because if i'm out and about, you can always find a place that serves a decent cup of coffee, but only rarely find a place that has loose leaf teas.

Sounds like you're talking about a pour-over brewer?

I brew about 50% press, 40% pour-over, and 10% chemex or vacuum methods. If we're hosting 20+ people I bust out the drip brewer.

You should totally grab a Hario V60 if you're using the Melitta po. TRUST ME, you'll begin to impart new and exciting sensations. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... feegeek-20

Make sure to get some good filters! Filtropa makes a nice filter at a sweet price point. Just make sure to rinse them prior to the brewing process.

::EDIT: Forgot to mention the importance of a good pour, especially for the Hario or beehive designs. The Buono is pricey but well worth it, imho. http://www.amazon.com/Hario-VKB-120HSV- ... B000IGOXLS

That's it! I wasn't familiar with the term "pour-over." I've been planning on upgrading my maker to something ceramic since I'm paranoid about BPA but... I'm lazy. :P That kettle looks really cool though! I'm totally going to have to get that at some point.

Hehe. We have these Starbucks automatic dispensers at work. It really is the cheapest, cleanest thing to drink here. They never clean out the water nozzle on the ice machine. Black mold everywhere... That leaves the questionable water fountains or $2 - $3 beverages in the vending machines. My job requires that I speak all day long so I have to have some kind of beverage at my desk at all times.. Go go caffeine addiction!

Mom and I don't drink coffee. Dad does, but he's happy with the Dunkin' Donuts stuff (Though, honestly, he's not supposed to have any coffee, what with his heart condition and all.)

I've never liked the taste of coffee myself. In high school my friends would always try to get me to try some, but no matter what they game me it just tasted *blah*. Then they'd tell me it was an acquired taste. Why would I want to acquire a taste for something I didn't like to begin with?

Instead, mom and I drink tea....

A*#loads, and a*#loads of tea.

*NOTE: She bought all of that. I just reap the benefits of it brewed in her cast iron tea pot.

If you replaced "Mom" and "she" (is there a cat in the room?) with "Mother" in this post, I would have sworn Norman Bates posted it.

posted in jest, kind of.

My apologies if my attempt at using proper grammar bombarded your brain with flashbacks from Psycho.
