I'm not sure what you're getting at with this analogy but I'm imagining it's probably hilarious.
.....Quiet, I'm very sleep deprived.....I meant to say it doesn't make you a car...not a guitar....Maybe I should go to bed now.....XD

I'd say retro gamers my age (I'm 13) are rarer. There's probably about four people in my grade who have willingly played a retro game. As I've said before, I've been insulted over my choice of video games. It kind of sucks when I want to talk about video games and I get conversations like this:
Me: Hey guys I got a shooter yesterday!
Them: Is it Battlefield or MW3?
Me: Sonic Wings Special. It's six dollars on PSN as a PS1 import!
Them: :?:
Me: (Explains how shmups work)
Them:
Me: :(

It especially sucks that my friends that have acually played retro games usually have no idea what I'm talking about.
Me: Don't you think Shining in the Darkness is awesome?
Friend: What?
Me: Who's your best team in KoF XIII?
Friend: Uh, Samus and Link? :?:
Me: :(

I live a sad life.

No one without the Internet is going to know those things (or be able to buy them ;P)

It's cool that you've got friends who like retro games. Instead of talking about things they don't know it would be cool to just sit down and play some. I'm sure they'll be willing to talk more about old games if they enjoy them more.

I plan to play some games once they come to my house. I wouldn't call them retro gamers considering that they've never played any non Nintendo retro games. I'd say the most retro gamerish thing one of them has done is get 3D Classics Xevious just because I kept yammering about it's awesomeness. I bet they'll love Metal Slug (at least with infinite credits) though.

Might want to start them off slow. Play a fighting game both of you suck at.

You mean all fighting games? I plan on having tournaments in KoF XIII, SC2, and maybe Pocket Fighter. Then we'll have tournaments in their favorite games, Smash Bros, DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, and Pokemon. After some Star Fox: Assault, we'll do co-op in SoR, Golden Axe, Fatal Fury, Shock Troopers, and Metal Slug. Then we'll watch Transformers: The Movie and Nathan J Barnatt's videos, then call it a night as we finish our pizza.

Strider, you sound like a younger version of me (with a MUCH better collection than I had at the time, and maybe better than I have now - not sure what you have). Do you have a Backloggery page? You should add me to your multitap if you do. I'd love to swap frustration stories sometime, lol.
