A) OE has been panned almost everywhere - what makes it so good to you?
B) Did you actually play these? I only really played the single player of each and thought GOW3 was quite good, MW3 was about as expected (very solid), and BF3 was underwhelming.

That game was a pleasant surprise when it came out. Kind of a gem even. I don't think it deserves to be counted among crap like MKvsDC

besides, if we were counting spinoffs we'd need to include even more awful games like Mythologies: Sub Zero and Special Forces.

I'm sure I've said it before, but the Gears of War franchise would probably be a lot more appealing to me if it didn't take itself so goddamn seriously.

Yeah I really did like OE. Simply was a fun game to play. To be fair, I don't play many shmups (I suck at them) so I probably missed out on a lot of superior titles. The art style was what originally attracted me to OE and is also one of the reasons I enjoy it.

And yeah, I did play my "worst" games for several hours each (brother owns them). Did not like them. Maybe I just really hate the number 3!

Really, there's no close second for best single-player modern combat FPS experience. As I've indicated many times, that's the main reason I play FPS games, and the COD series has consistently had solid and fun (if short) single player games.

Regardless, the bulk of those games are MP, and BF 3 is the superior title of the two between that and MW3.. MW3 is just updated skins and graphics with the exact same engine and gameplay as MW2 which is fine I guess since most people accept that.. BF by default is just a better MP game because it requires more teamwork and there are more ways to contribute to the team besides mindless killing...
