Sonic 2 is most definitely the weak link of the originals. Its also the most overrated among fans.

I love the game too, but its always the last one I might pick when I go to play the classics.

Best thing to come out of Sonic 2 was Tails.

Well it's still a good game. Just not as good as the others. Though it does have one of my favorite music tracks in the series on it.

Honestly, I never really got into Sonic CD or Knuckle Chaotix. I never owned either the Sega CD or the 32X. I know I need to rectify this, but are they truly worthy add-ons? Or will I be spending my money on sub-par games?

Well, the Sega CD does have some good games. The 32x is a hit/miss depending on what you like. It does have an awesome version of Virtua Racing, and Virtua Fighter is okay. The Doom port plays nice but sounds piss poor. Knuckles Chaotix is awesome, but whether these are worth it entirely depends on your tastes. The Sega CD has a little for everybody.
