I had the Mexican food last night along with a fair amount of tequila, then spent most of today crawling around my 100° attic, so I'm definitely not a good person to hug right now.

Still, I'd do it again. That was damn good food, and good times.

But consider yourselves internet-hugged.

That's completely different from things like religion. Opinions are not the same as facts. Either god is real or he isn't. It's one or the other. One side is right and one side is wrong. Yeah, anyone can choose to believe whatever they want, but it won't change the fact that one side is wrong.

When someone says something really absurd or stupid like "I'm gonna go flush all of my money down the toilet because my parents told me I should.", many people would not only think they were foolish, they would speak up and try to stop them from doing it. The difference with religion is that it is so widespread that it isn't seen as crazy. If most people flush all their money down the toilet, it stops being seen as foolish.
Okay, I'll take your approach.

No one likes you. No one cares what you have to say. No one clicks on a link where you're the most recent poster without groaning a little on the inside, wondering what this pissant has to say this time. You have no standing. You have no place to talk about video games, much less peoples belief systems. You waste your time with every key you type and I am seriously wondering if I could paypal you a certain amount of funds to go the hell away and never bother people ever again. I'd be willing to gift it.

Conversations are constantly derailed by your sanctimonious, inane, undesired, unrequested, naive, blind bullshit and despite constant requests for you to get in line and act like a reasonable person, you persist in pissing everyone the hell off. I used to think you were some clever kind of troll. That was overly generous of me and I have since moved on.

You want to talk about someone doing something stupid OVER AND OVER again without figuring it out? You're that someone dude. Or have you not figured that out yet?
I read Ack's post before responding, and I mostly agree with him (sorry Flake).

I for one actually look forward to Inazuma's posts because often they do genuinely lead to some interesting and lively discussions. I assume he is being so inflammatory for just that purpose (generating discussion), and frankly it makes him into quite a unique figure on the forum. I also think that he has, in general, become better at arguing his points over time and learning something about how to best address this audience across various topics and in various contexts. So while we still get half-assed "Inazuma posts" like the ones in this thread that seem meant to antagonize and generalize, we also get slightly more reasoned posts from him that more clearly explain his positions in and against others on the board.

Maybe I am sympathetic because I often find myself agreeing with some of his arguments and respecting his boldness to voice them. I just wish that he would more frequently make his claims in a way that could generate discussion about the topic and not about his style of argument

In any case, he's leaps and bounds more civil than when he first got here, and I consider him an interesting member of the community - our own provocateur of sorts - and hope he sticks around for a long time.

DSH, I have to be honest -- I'm actually slightly upset at that post. You have a lot of forum members voicing that they're very annoyed with Inazuma and you wait until the shit settles and then side with him? That kind of... knocked the wind out of me.

I was at dinner earlier, eating steak and shrimp. Must be the fact that I didn't have Mexican food...

I am not "siding" with him but I found Flake's post telling him to fuck off and never come back to be quite excessive. He certainly offers something valuable to this board (often in his role as flame-bait in chief) in that he makes people explain their own position more clearly in order to disagree with him.

I guess I can't but help like an instigator, even if they sometimes go about instigating in an asshole-like fashion.

to be honest DSH (and this is of course just MY opinion) I don't feel he offers anything valuable to this board. I think he offers a bunch of derailings and annoyances. Maybe that's just me (but I don't think it is from well, many of the threads with other forum members saying the same thing.) And if Flake was excessive, it was only because he was pushed over a certain line that many of us seem to just BARELY stop ourselves from crossing with the guy on a regular basis.
