That's correct, they're planning on making the two compatible, you just wouldn't be able to play as the new characters if you only have SSFIV.

the new characters are Yun, Yang, Evil Ryu, and Oni. Morrigan is not part of the SF series, just the VS series.

yeah I figured she wouldn't be there, but you never know if crossovers will occur in these special editions. Anyway, sounds like I have on reason to check out the upgrade.

Gen was supposed to be dead too but that didn't stop them from putting him in. Need I also mention Gouken? SF4 doesn't give a rat's ass about story and continuity.

i can see it now, Charlie coming back from the dead.

his one of my favorite characters in Alpha.

I'll definitely check it out on release. I need to now decide whether to get it as DLC or another physical disc since I already have SF IV and SSF IV.
