@CatchFiveBats: Despite your pretty length response, you didn't really explain why you're so fascinated with this person. I just genuinely don't get it. You explained the general draw that an idol is supposed to create, and you explained that you have chosen to support this girl with much enthusiasm. But for what reason would you be so obsessed with a person that doesn't care about you at all? Just seems like really odd behavior. What about a girlfriend? No girlfriend I've ever had would be especially keen on this kind of thing, is this strange obsessive and fake relationship you have with this idol (and it's a relationship you have with "the idol" this girl creates, not her) enough for you to not even care about real women that would have interest in you?

You didn't have internet in 2002? I had internet in 1995. Were your parents just not interested in computers?alienjesus wrote:Haha, the first time I went to spain I was about 13 myself. Seeing topless girls on the beach was like the most amazing thing ever. I didn't even have the internet back then, if you get my drift, so it was a real luxury XDInazuma wrote:OK then. When I went to Greece I was about 12-14 years old. I had recently gone through puberty so I had a lot of interest in girls and sex. The beaches that we went to in Greece were topless, which was really amazing for me. However, there was a problem. Being a young boy surrounded by beautiful bare breasts would cause me to get random uncontrollable erections. I didn't want other people to notice, especially my family, so I would run into the water and just stay there for a while until things had calmed down. -_-;;

I got my first PC the day after I turned 15. I didn't get the internet on it for 8 months after that.BoringSupreez wrote: You didn't have internet in 2002? I had internet in 1995. Were your parents just not interested in computers?
My parents were not interested in computers, couldn't really afford to buy me one and wouldn't have had any need to use one themselves. I was very shocked when they did get me one for Christmas that year, because theyed gone quite far out of their way to do so. They did so because I was working towards my GCSE's (the exams people take in their last year of school in England). I remember before that, I used to treat myself to a few hours in cyber cafes looking up guides for games I owned on gamefaqs and jotting down loads of notes about stuff I didn't know (like how to get certain smash bros trophies, and where some djinn I'd missed were in golden sun).
They've never been huge ones for technology of any kind tbh. When it came to Christmas and my Birthday, they always tried to convince me to choose stuff other than games. And I don't mean something other than all the games I'd said I wanted, I mean no games at all. Normally I could convince my mum to by me one game for christmas each year, and the rest I'd buy with my birthday money and paper round money.

Having an erection isn't bad, unless you are in public. I didn't want to draw attention to myself so I went in the water. I was extremely shy back then.ZeroAX wrote:...Why is having an erection bad?![]()

I tend to. Pretty much every time I see a girl it pops up. I don't even try to hide it anymore. The J-girls seem to dig it.Jrecee wrote:And now you parade your boner around everywhere with no concern.

I don't personally feel that she doesn't care about me at all. On a personal level? Maybe not...but she definitely appreciates my support and for me, that's enough. Being one of the few non-Japanese people who's actually gone to the trouble to attend these events enough that my favorite member actually recognizes me is an awesome feeling.brunoafh wrote:I just genuinely don't get it. But explaining why this is enough for me and why it's such an awesome feeling to someone outside the Morning Musume fanbase is difficult. The wall of text I blasted off earlier is the best I can do; the very nature of idols creates fans with my level of dedication.
Haven't dated since 2003, don't plan to start any time soon. Too much trouble. Not to say that I'm delusional and consider her to be "my girlfriend" (that would be insane), but you could say idols are an adequate enough substitute.brunoafh wrote:What about a girlfriend? Also, women with an interest in me? That's a good one
That's a debate that takes place within the idol fan community as well. Some members clearly create a persona of sorts, but even then that "character" is based on who they really are in the first place. The member I support never did that; she was too awkward and shy upon first joining to have pulled off anything of that sort haha, and that's been her charm all along. Very genuine, shy, sweet, hard-working...that's the best answer I can give as to why I support her specifically as opposed to any other idol.brunoafh wrote:and it's a relationship you have with "the idol" this girl creates, not her

Re: World Traveling
And what do you do about sex? Also that last line in the first paragraph is so otakuish. Yes, there are women who will be interested in a guy. But most of the times, said guy is looking for a hot young playful girl dream fantasy. Girls of course do it as well (otherwise Twilight wouldn't have been such a hit). But the problem is the fact that those people are looking for something so fake, not that there isn't someone out there for them.CatchFiveBats wrote: Haven't dated since 2003, don't plan to start any time soon. And about that second paragraph, I'm sorry but the way you describe her makes it sound sooooooooo fake to me. She becomes an idol, which means she'll be at the spotlight all the time, and she is supposed to be shy? No she's faking it to look cute.

It's more that I've seen what other guys go through to find that "someone out there for them" and would simply rather not deal with it. I've got my own things to do and I'd rather not tie myself emotionally, financially, etc to another person. Cause sure, if I wanted to I could do just fine dating...but I choose not to. Again, too much trouble.ZeroAX wrote:Yes, there are women who will be interested in a guy. But most of the times, said guy is looking for a hot young playful girl dream fantasy. Everyone asks me that haha, and plain and simple I just don't worry about it. And I do fine without.ZeroAX wrote:And what do you do about sex?
I could go into a huge spiel explaining why I believe that she's not faking it, but no one would believe me. And that's fine, less competition~ZeroAX wrote:No she's faking it to look cute.
