Skullgirls was such a disappointment to me -- though not because of the game itself. Every time I'd try to play online, I'd get severe slowdown. This was game-killing to me, as the attraction of current-gen fighting games is the online component. So honestly, I lost all interest in even trying to get good at the game.Dylan wrote:Is anyone still playing this game? I'm having a very hard time getting into it. The tier ranking system is completely idiotic (I've spent upwards of half an hour just trying to get into any sort of match at all), and whenever I finally do get a match it's just a laggy catastrophe. Normally I'd avoid people with around 100 ping, but I'm lucky to even manage those. At its core I really do like this game, but if the online experience doesn't improve for me within a few days then I'm dropping it.

Re: Skull Girls
I hear ya, the online slowdown makes fighters unplayable and especially so for a game as execution heavy as Skullgirls. Half the time the game flat out ignores my inputs. Well, I guess I'll try for another day or two, but so far I'd also say that this game has really disappointed me. Maybe it'll be better after the update? But then, maybe that's just wishful thinking.noiseredux wrote: Skullgirls was such a disappointment to me -- though not because of the game itself. Most folks are waiting for the update. That's why the scene has died. Pretty much happens with every fighter that has an update on the way - especially ones that don't have a place at EVO.
The patch is supposed to change the game completely for a lot of characters, so a lot of folks are just waiting til then before they start relying on stuff that isn't going to work.
I main Ms. Fortune and apparently a lot of her Nom loops are going to be impossible in the next build - this is a pretty drastic change so I'd rather just wait for the patch and see what's going to be possible after that. Any time I spend with the current version of Skullgirls is basically a waste.
However, if you wanna play Skullgirls, I have it on both 360 and PS3. 360: the7k. PS3: the_7k.

Yeah, I remember hearing about that. Apparently they're tightening up the IDS as well making potential combos shorter for everyone.the7k wrote:Most folks are waiting for the update. Something that's definitely worth mentioning though is that ever since I've gotten above tier 5 online (still don't totally understand what that means but whatever), getting into good matches has become significantly easier. I'm guessing the lower tiers are really dead because people that aren't good or serious about the game stop playing, and because you have to fight people of your own rank there's nobody to fight as a result. All I can say right now is that lately matches have gotten much better and it's been very encouraging.
I'm not going to get totally serious about this game until after the update, but I do want to play around with the cast a bit more to get a better feel for it.
