The floating ball is even easier if you just jump over it. It doesn't turn around. Why bother trying to kill it?

Re: Letter to Labyrinth Zone on Sonic the Hedgehog
Well for everyone complaining about Labyrinth Zone and other stages from the old Sonic games, stay as far away from Sonic 4 as possible. After I went on about how fun Road of Cards is, we are back to the garbage level design that characterizes this game in the level that follows it, including a cheap bottomless pit before the end of the level that will kill you a few times before you have any idea what you're supposed to do. Even then, you'll still be amazed but just how stupid it is
The 16-bit Sonic games are the greatest games ever designed compared to Sonic 4.

Hydro City was awesome.alienjesus wrote:I disagree whole heartedly. No sonic water level is a good sonic water level, they all suck.
Personally, I'd have to say that for water levels in 2d platformers, I always prefer being able to swim. The Donkey Kong Country games probably have the best water levels in 2D platformers if you ask me.
That said, swimming mechanics were always more satisfying in 3D platformers to me.

Hydro City is my least favourite water stage in the 2d sonics. I detest it.Jrecee wrote:Hydro City was awesome.alienjesus wrote:I disagree whole heartedly. No sonic water level is a good sonic water level, they all suck.

Mostly what Luke said.Luke wrote:For one, that little enemy that's essentially a floating ball that hurl spikey balls at you...Hold down on the d-pad and duck. Yup. It is that easy. Just make sure you don't stand back upright until all the spikey balls have passed.PixelPixii wrote:For those of you who have seemed to conquer Labyrinth Zone with no problem (GSZX1337 and Ivo) I drew you a picture of a unicorn for your accomplishment.
Now please share your super powers with me?
Also avoid any falls, as they usually lead to spiked floors, and regardless if you have 100 rings, you'll probably die. Drowning shouldn't be a problem as long as you stop once in a few seconds to grab a bubble.
You can fly through the level, you just have to be familiar with it. You may be frustrated now, but after a few more times you'll laugh at the fact that at one point you found this level difficult. Get back to us when you reach the scrap brain zone.
If you have problems with drowning:
Starting from where you can breathe (bubble point or a shallow point where you can breach and breathe), explore a bit forward, come back to the bubble and then cover the part you know already faster. Also, although you do not need to stop at each "bubble" point, if you do you will always feel less stressed out.
Also if you meet one of the spike throwers, duck and start getting anxious that the 4 spikes take ages to fly over you, feel free to go back to a known bubble point, and when you return forward just keep running and jump over it as you already know where it will be.
Ivo.

I do hope you all realize that I am just playing around. I still have not beat the level yet, but I will soon. When that day comes I am going to eat cake. A lot of cake.

Is it weird that I can still hum the song for the level?
Still, the Starlight Zone song is better!
