That's understandable, and I can definitely appreciate a company not running their series into the ground. Don't get me wrong though, I'd still react very openly to a well made sequel.
REPO Man wrote:* I agree. Maybe use the SSF4 engine, if not the MvC3 engine. Also, new characters. Like maybe a Freddy Krueger-like character?
* I started playing Psychonauts some time ago, though maybe they'll release an HD remake.
* This needs to be one of those GCN games that gets a Wii update
* They let it die because it's not Final Fantasy. Yeah, it sucks when our heroes act like the villains.
* I've only played Earthbound once and even I agree with you. I mean, it's like they don't care how much we want it. Like they, for some stupid reason, care more about across-the-board appeal over die-hard appeal.
* If they do a SMRPG sequel, they need to add Square Enix cameos, a la Kingdom Hearts.
* Yes
* Wasn't that what Maximo was?
Darkstalkers - I think the MvC3 engine would be better suited to the frantic pace the Darkstalkers games developed, and would fit the atmoshpere better. I agree that there's a lot of potential for great new characters, Darkstalkers still has one of my favorite casts as it is now.
Earthbound - I know, we can't even get a VC release and have to rely on translation patches for the first and last titles. Heck, I'd settle for an official release of the whole series so I could play it without having to download most of it.
Super Mario RPG - Yeah, I thought it was strange that there were only Nintendo cameos in it. Unless you count Culex, who's kind of a general reference to the Final Fantasy universe.
Ghosts 'n Goblins - Funny you should mention that, I purchased Maximo a week or two ago and literally today I was ready to pop it in and finally give it a try. Unfortunately my PS2 isn't getting any younger and still can't read blue-backed CDs, so I'll have to wait until later to experience it.
