Re: 2011 Together Retro calender
Luke suggested Baseball for October (to coincide with baseball IRL) a while back. We figured we did horror-themed for October two years in a row, so maybe switch it up. A lot of us may not be sports fans, so the thinking is that maybe Together Retro would be an excuse to try a genre that we would normally ignore.swiftzx wrote:When it's October, why does it have to be Baseball; I'm not that big of a Baseball fan. Also, what do you mean by sim?
Genres like "Sim" or "Party" leave things vague enough to be open to interpretation. So I guess we'll see....

Baseball only if it's the Cube's Mario Superstar Baseball or one of the NES games. As much as I love baseball, the video games are mostly crap in my opinion.swiftzx wrote: I love it that I recommended party and it's thereWhen it's October, why does it have to be Baseball; I'm not that big of a Baseball fan. Yeah, but of all the other sports, baseball? maybe we should decide it in a poll?

Re: 2011 Together Retro calender
If we do sports, baseball would get my vote. We did basketball this year, and while I like all sports, people tend to pay the most attention to baseball in late September/early October.swiftzx wrote:Yeah, but of all the other sports, baseball? maybe we should decide it in a poll?
That said, I like horror games in October and just because it has been done doesn't mean we have to stop. Tradition has its place! I'd vote for baseball in September.
Otherwise I don't have a problem with your proposal Noise - it is fairly close to my own. I'd happily get rid of the sim and/or strategy if we had to cut something. I don't like those genres much (and tend to associate them with one another). I'd rather sub one out for a beat em up or a run n gun.
Re: 2011 Together Retro calender
I like that schedule. I was going to ask what was meant by "sim" as well. Are we talking SimCity or 688 Attack Sub?

I feel kinda left out with baseball, its not exactly a sport popular over here in Europe land. Could we not do something popular on both sides of the pond, Like Tennis, or Golf?dsheinem wrote:If we do sports, baseball would get my vote. I'd also like some clarification on what constitutes a 'sim'.
Turn Based Strategy is my choice for the strategy month btw.

Sir, I don't know where you're getting your info, but no one in the U.S. likes golf. People play it to torture themselves after a long week of work because otherwise they go through withdrawal.alienjesus wrote: I feel kinda left out with baseball, its not exactly a sport popular over here in Europe land.
