Wii Key - Gamecube SD Gecko - PS2 HDAdvance/HDloader Guide
Re: Gamecube SD Gecko and PS2 HDAdvance/HDloader Guide
OIC, that makes sense. Guess that's why you can't just FTP games over too.

Intec G7300 5.4" LCD PS2 Fat

Not too many PS2 Fat LCDs, most were sold for the more easily transportable PS2 slim.
This screen is too small for gaming or link play. Not that great as a transportable system either, the Fat requires an AC adaptor for the car. Besides I have a nice 10.4" TFT LCD screen for the car shows so why buy this?
Front Panel and Controls
1. Power for LCD or just Speakers
2. Volume
3. Brightness
4. Color
Two Audio Earbud Jacks
A handy small LCD to monitor HDAdvance/HDLoader game installs
I usually direct install a single game the slow easy way using HDAdvance. Actually saves time vs removing the hard drive or dragging over to the computer for a crossover ethernet cable ISO file. Now with the portable LCD, I can play another game console or watch TV without having to go split screen to monitor the install progress bar.
Locks onto the Fat PS2, even a custom FlipTop PS2 Fat. The LCD does have to be removed in order to open the PS2 Fat FlipTop.
The LCD also comes in handy when I do have to drag the PS2 over to the computer for ethernet crossover cable DVD9 installs. No more hooking up the PS2 to another TV. The LCD has SVideo/Composite/Audio input and a PSX output port. The sound is pretty good, better then the PS1 portable screen. Unfortunately no Component support, so I can't set this up as a pass thru for the HD CRT. A swap of video cables back and forth is a pain.
Guncon AV Adaptor
I have an older gray Guncon Sony AV cable part number SCPH-1160 designed specifically for the gray PS1 model number SCPH-5501. The PS1 consoles do not support Component, just SVideo and Composite. Strange that I can pull Component 480p out of the AV Adaptor, did some PS1 consoles support RGB or Component? The AV Adaptor has both a pass thru PSX Output for the regular TV and a Composite/Audio output on the side for the LCD. A drop from SVideo, but at least I can maintain Component for the HD CRT and no more swapping cables!
The Grey not the Black one.

PAL Games
Some PAL games offer a NTSC 60hz mode, but default to 50hz at startup which is hard to see on a NTSC screen. A NTSC CRT would display a rolling unviewable picture. On the small NTSC LCD, a PAL screen is very dark grey and black, but the game setting screen can be seen to switch from PAL 50hz to NTSC 60hz.
Back Panel
1. SVideo Composite Select Switch
2. SVideo Input
3. Composite Input
4. Stereo RCA Input
5. PSX Cable AV Output
6. 12 Volt Power Input
No idea what the empty rectangular hole is for.
Not sure which model the Amazon buyer below was writing about. I have the Intec G7300, there is an Intec G7600 for the slim. I'm satisfied with the pic, works out fine for what I'm using it for.
Screen is bright enough, though a little scratched. Adequate to monitor the installs.

Just a word of warning: Intec has at least TWO versions of this item on the market. The first one, labelled as the 5" COLOR GAME SCREEN is an excellent product with a good screen, excellent clarity, and good colors. The second one, labelled as the 5.6" COLOR GAME SCREEN is also by Intec, and DOES have a larger screen, but it is a VERY shoddy product. The 5.6" Screen is nowhere near the same quality as the 5" Screen. If you are buying this product make SURE that you buy the one that DOES NOT have the ".6" added to the product name! I've owned both models, and the 5.6" screen is TERRIBLE. The 5" screen is BEAUTIFUL, clear and crisp with excellent colors and minimal blurring, but the 5.6" version of this screen has washed-out colors, horrible blurring, and makes it nearly impossible to make out what's on screen when there's motion involved
Screen is bright enough, though a little scratched. Adequate to monitor the installs.

Another OPL trick!
After pressing L1, L2, R1, R2, L3, R3 (all six R buttons) at the same time your ps2 will shut down for when it´s that time of the night.

Pressed Disc is easier on the PS2 reader
I don't like dealing with a memory card boot and I have 8c as one of the "Game Files" in the hard drive for temperamental DV9 games.

Just give it up.

A pressed disc wouldn't help my PS2 with a dead laser but Free McBoot/HD Loader will.

Stop badmouthing crt!
I always have the hdadvancer disc, while loading hdl 0.8c from my HD.
Am I stupid? Your ps2 does need a game disc first to read the TOC, right?
So it wouldn´t be that dumb to just do it with hdavance, but HDL 0.8c is better than hdadvance.

Re: Gamecube SD Gecko and PS2 HDAdvance/HDloader Guide
what TOC? if you are thinking that a game needs to be in the PS2 to load games off the HDD you are mistaken sir.
