I personally believe in god
I understand that many atheists would follow the science, in that
if god existed, we would have a definite proof of him. Where is he?

The good thing is, by the time we die we will know the answer for sure.
Heaven, Hell, or back to the soil.

But as far as I understand
God could not be scientifically be proven
yet at the same time scientifically, you can NOT prove that god does NOT exist

am I right??

Seems like a thread more suited for a philosophy journal/board then a video game board.. But whatever as long as it's clean I'll read in I suppose..

lol, even the darkest corners of the internet can't escape. I'm actually surprised this thread is still kicking, but I suppose this community retains a bit more civility than most boards I've seen.

Hate to rain on your parade, but Zeigeist is well-documented for being an absolute piece of shit documentary. I don't know about "The God Who Wasn't There", though.

As for my belief: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bECIgvMePiA

So wait a sec, Gauis Baltar is a god made of porridge?

Holy crap!

I mean, holy porridge!

Pretty much, it's just like any conversation... The pink elephant will eventually reveal itself in time... This seems like an easygoing community for the most part so like you, I believe this will stay civil...

I don't know why, but I can't help but picture a large pink elephant in a top hat and monocle suddenly stepping out from behind a tall curtain in a crowded, 18th century ball room. But yeah, your point stands.

everything that is wrong with Atheism: namely that so many of its adherents seem drawn to it for the sole purpose of disagreeing with, rebelling against, and intentionally insulting what others consider the truth. While I feel Christians, Muslims, and other religious groups should take the time to internally examine their beliefs and condemn that part of their religious orders that adhere to violence and succumb to ignorance, I also feel that Atheists should do the same. And nothing smacks of ignorance and arrogance than labeling one's ideas the single and only truth.

I also find that many people choose atheism because it is trendy in this day in age. I have decided, recently, that I am no longer an atheist. I don't know what I believe and don't care. I am not trying to find out or seek the truth. I just live a good life and take care of those who are important to me. Nothing else matters to me. Maybe that makes me agnostic, but I am tired of the labels. As with most other things that are labels, the labelers have made me sick to death of the entire subject.

Ah, but there is also a Rosie O'Donnell in the world. Seems like a good counter argument.
