but they made the GBC and GBA fully backwards compatable. Hell, they used BC as a selling point. Seemed like a good trend. "Play all your old favorites! Look forward to great new games!"

Dude, c'mon. 'Finding a reason' is what we are all about here. Everyone of us 'finds a reason' every time we hook up a decades old, out of date machine with obsolete hardware and boot up games that the world has largely forgotten about...just for the sake of nostalgia.
If the guy feels like the DS would have been better with full BC, then so be it. He made a valid point. Thats no more grasping at straws or 'finding a reason' than some guy in B/S/T trying to get a TG-16 or a modder fixing their 22 year old NES.

Nes2 has no led for power.
Genesis controllers haven't held up well.
360 headsets break.
Gamecube controllers (excluding wavebirds) break easily, including Nintendo ones.
(I' m not going to respond to others, because this thread has about 3 pages of this, however, flake: that statment makes no sense. once Again the original argument was why should any company release b/c other than because it's cool to have)

Nah, c'mon. This day and age they could easily do it with software emulation. I've seen a DSlite running an SNES game with few problems. There's definitely enough horsepower to run a GB cart.

are there any GB emulators for DS? I stopped paying attention to DS homebrew in 2007.
I've never done homebrew on my own DS so I'm not entirely certain. A friend of mine does have some kind of wacky cart with a mini SD card in it that has the entire NES library loaded on it...the GB wasn't that far removed from the NES in terms of hardware, as far as I know. So certainly it's possible.
