The game on DS is just Sonic Rush 3 (if you liked the previous 2 you'll probably like this one as well)
The Wii game looks like shit. Another Sonic game where you press left (or up) to run fast, with automatic springs and and jumps, to finish the level. And people made fun of Nintendo for having the super guide. All modern sonic games are on super guide.
GOD DAMN IT SEGA. if you can't make a proper sonic game, hire people from the community. You know....people who actually care about sonic

Wait, so you played the game already and know how it plays? And when you say "looks" I hope you don't mean graphics because it looks pretty graphics wise to me?
I played the demo of the DS version and I think its going to be pretty good. The only complaint I have is I didn't like the water parts as they slowed you down way to much.

No I've seen every single gameplay video I could find, and it seamed like that to me. Sorry but the "have you played the game yet" phrase doesn't work on me. I'm done with giving a game a chance (when there is no demo available) when the gameplay videos look bad. I'm not wasting money when I'm 99% sure I'll hate the game.
Also don't trust Eurogamer reviews when it comes to Sonic. They gave Sonic and the Secret Rings a freaking 9..... that game was all kind of terrible (this time sonic literally moved on his own)
Oh they also gave Sonic 4 a 9.....and most of us here hated it. I'm never nice to games, cause they cost so much, I demand perfection from them. Well not perfection, but I want to be having fun all of the time when I'm playing them, and not when the developers decide that they'll remove a shitty game mechanic for this part of the game.

Agree with ZeroAX. The game just doesn't look all that good. I tried playing Sonic Unleashed for the first time in ages the other week and I couldn't stand it. This looks like it will probably be better, but it looks like the same style of gameplay, but with the whole theme park gimmick.

Umm, what exactly do you want from a Sonic game? Forget the Megadrive games, that's another time and place. Sonic Colours looks good, 79 metascore so far, too bad I don't have a Wii to try it.

Something that's actually high quality and respectable. We want a modern Sonic that's equivalent to say, modern Mario or Zelda in terms of quality. Modern classic sort of status.
It sounds like a lot to ask, but geez, so many other classic franchises manage to have highly respectable high quality modern entries that are loved by hardcore fans and mainstream critics alike, why can't Sonic have the same thing? Why can't we expect Sonic to have the same thing?
IGN tends to bash sonic into the ground and they gave colors a higher score than sonic 4 (which isn't great but has been relatively praised by the media). It doesn't look like a perfect game but it's the first time I've been actually considering buying a 3D sonic game for a few years.
I'll be buying DKC4 first though, since Nintendo games tend to stay at full price for a long time while sega games usually drop to $30 within a couple months.
I'm liking the DS game so far. The colour powers apparently don't add much to the Rush formula but since the bottomless pits are seemingly gone I don't really mind! Music is better than Rush 1, but I suppose that's subjective, and I think the graphics are slightly better too. The best bit so far is that it's fairly light on story, unlike the dreadful Rush Adventure.
