Very good choice, these are like 2D perfected. I don't think SNES+genesis perfected 2D because you can see flaws with the graphics easy. Maybe saturn did.
Maybe there are limits in those graphics too, but hey its like SNES on supercharge!
When it comes to role playing games nothing beats the art style of the 16 and 32-Bit era systems to me. I just love the 2D graphics of the Genesis, SNES and early Playstation RPG games.
Now when it comes to everything else it all depends what I am playing. I really enjoy the graphics on the Dreamcast even today, and I like the 2D sprites of the Neo Geo when it comes to fighting games. I also still love the hand drawn art work from the 90's on the PC and I enjoy the modern consoles and their graphics just as well.
Guess it is really hard for me to narrow it down to just one era with me.

And 360 and Windows
Still waiting on that PC release.
there WAS a strange arcade leak thing of sorts. Kinda was a bit wonky, controllers wouldn't register diagonals and your graphics and resolution options were very limited. I played it for a little bit like that mainly out of curiosity, but I'm planning on buying it sometime.
PC release I imagine will show up whenever Continuum Shift comes out on consoles.
