Re: Together Retro: Phantasy Star
Well, I own PS I-IV in various versions on various consoles and have only ever played through II and IV (love them both). Maybe I'll give PSI a shot if I can save on my DS emulator on my hour-long commute. Otherwise, I just don't have the time to play it at home.
I've already played through PSII and IV earlier this year (beaten both multiple times, especially IV), so I'm keen to go IF I can gamesave on the DS.

Re: Together Retro: Phantasy Star
Do you mean savestates, or just support for normal saving? If you mean savestates, then you don't actually need those for this game, you can save anywhere.
Re: Together Retro: Phantasy Star
If you can find it the GBA version is only like $5 at Gamestop. I have been playing it only on my DS. You can save anytime too.
Re: Together Retro: Phantasy Star
Just picked up a copy of Phantasy Star: Fukkokuban for JP Mega Drive to add to my collection. There is a guy that I have been talking to that has both the game gear games in complete and great condition that I may have to grab sometime as well. An also has both Game no Kandzume's with the Phantasy text adventures. Phantasy Star is my fav game and series of all time
Anyways...
In the last couple months I finished Phantasy Star II and Phantasy Star III again. I know there are ALOT of people that don't like Phantasy Star III, but, I have to say I actually enjoy it. It has great music, especially the track that plays when you visit the Satellite.
Kinda off topic.
If your reading this Breetai...What does a Boxless MarkIII+FM unit with all hook ups and 2 controllers usually go for in Japan?

Re: Together Retro: Phantasy Star
I haven't been able to play much lately. I just got the cake in the dungeon. Weird place for a cake shop. I did some leveling and am about to reach 100 HP for my first character. I was able to get two of the armors that cost 1000 Mesatas for Odin and Alis. My next objective is the cave (around the antlions) on the next planet. Anyone else think the enemies on the new planet seem like Jawas and Sandpeople from Star Wars? Seems like there is some influence here....

not to mention the Storm Troopers guarding the public spaceships. I also feel like there's a Dune influence with the sandworms.

I'm at the state of being jealous. Sounds like everyone is having a blast playing this, and I'm missing out.
I've got Phantasy Star II, maybe I should go ahead and get on that.
