Syquest carts were huge, stored less, and I couldn't really get a drive to work on things at home. Once they added zip disks, I could take image and project files home from the Macs to work on my PC instead of fighting for time in the lab. It was great.

Guys, guys, we all know that the tape drive was the ultimate in portable storage.

Oh don't get me wrong they were great when they worked. I mean, 100MB of storage on a cassette the same size as as 2 floppies stacked. Wowzers. They were pretty cool, but when they broke. OMG. HUUUUUULK SMAAAAAAASH!!!!
