Re: 2010 Conventions
Ive got an AMV being shown at Animazement 2010 that will premier saturday from 10pm to 1am and sunday in the AMV over flow. It wasn't a finalist but they listed it as an official selection so to speak, so to me its a "you were almost a finalist but we liked it enough to show as a runner up".
Here is what it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjDxtTnglzI

Not bad, not bad at all.
See the problem is that now I'm going to have to spend all my money on Bubblegum Crisis DVD's. Last time I saw the series was on VHS and I no longer own my copy.

Re: 2010 Conventions
Almost forgot to mention, me and Dr. Cirno will hopefully be making idiots out of ourselves belting out a live rendition of everyone's favorite arcade tunes "The King Of Speed" (Daytona USA, 1993/1994) and "Let's Go Away" (Daytona USA 1993/1994) on karaoke night!
That's right, I've got my Daytona USA Karaoke CD's ready for the machine (I own a 5-CD Daytona USA CD Boxset......literally), memorized every lyric and nuance of the songs, and am all set to get it on!
For those of you who possibly somehow don't know the music from Daytona USA:
The King Of Speed, "AKA Rolling Start" (Arcade Version): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlOrRe-H ... re=related
The King Of Speed,"AKA Rolling Start" (Saturn Version): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWcqEcnNTtk
Let's Go Away, "AKA The Daytona Theme" (Arcade Version): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vh5LfAu1 ... re=related
Let's Go Away, "AKA The Daytona Theme" (Saturn CD Version): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QiAlrSe ... re=related
We're still undecided as to whether we should just go with the more familiar Arcade/Saturn Version of Let's Go Away linked to above, or the extended cut that actually has lyrics which was featured on the CD:
Let's Go Away, (Full Daytona USA Theme With Lyrics): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6WTLVOR ... re=related

Re: 2010 Conventions
All the rolling start song is like this "ROLLLLLLLLLLLLING STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAART" the entire song, then AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
Maybe you should look into the Sonic R OST. Now that you told me, ill be there.
I paid 40 for the remastered boxset last year at the con, which the source video came from those dvds.

Re: 2010 Conventions
Why would you pay forty dollars for a CD that just has the music on it when you can get a CD with the whole game for four bucks?

@Samson: It has all the Music for Daytona USA (Arcade Ver.), Daytona USA(Saturn Version), Daytona CCE/Network, Daytona 2 & Daytona 2001 on five separate discs. So plenty of music on it, plus bonus vocal, karaoke and extended tracks that can't be found anywhere else.
@Zeonik: Keep in mind this is all still speculative. If they say no and anime music only, a panel we really want to go to or something else gets in the way, something happens, I somehow realize that this is actually a very, Very, VERY bad idea, my CD explodes, I die from Dysentery, I'm Assimilated, the con center gets flooded, I'm glued to a cab in the game room, the hotel I'm in collapses while i'm asleep, etc... etc... we probably won't.
Also, you forgot Rolling start also occasionaly has a "daddup, daddup" during the rests after the chorus.

Seriously, we're going to basically be doing the whole thing as a big joke if we can get away with it. If it was the way we wanted it we would have had a full row of Daytona motion simulator cabs like the ones at my local Dave&Buster's come up through the floor and have people playing on them with fireworks and a laser light show as we sang.

Re: 2010 Conventions
I hope they dont turn you down, that would be stupid because its not that Haurai song or Cruel Angel Thesis for the 23000000000000000000000000000000 time.
Ah... 5 more days man... Wait are you going to be there for all 3 days or just the weekend?.

Re: 2010 Conventions
We'll be there for the pre-con night all the way through to late Sunday when it's all over so Thursday to Sunday evening.
Also, what's wrong with Cruel Angel's Thesis?! (You're talking to an EVA ultrafan (Yet I own no merch besides a few manga the DVD's and one lone poster)here, so them's fighting words.) But yeah, strong chance this may not happen.

Its an over played song that EVERYONE DOES.
Then again, not singing it would be killing tradition, like going to a baseball game and they dont play "star spangled banner". It just goes with it. And i wonder, im sure there was a song that people did at cons before that song was popular, unless no one at cons prior to 1998 did karaoke.
But ill be there from friday to sunday, i dont really do the pre con but ill be there first thing friday. Plus im doing something that thursday since im coming up that morning and doing things with a friend of mine throughout the day.
Again, best way to find me is im gonna (and i hope im the only one who does this) be the only one with cop glasses, a fumanchu and a toy shotgun in a tan sports jacket and a red tie with a black shirt.
