So what do you want for Christmas?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

For my speech at my Sister's wedding, I created a super-simple slideshow of pictures of us growing up together, with some 80's pop that we both enjoyed. Holy cow. Talk about the water works. At the end I asked the crowd "Besides all the pictures having both Heidi and I in them, what do they all have in common?... We were always smiling, not because we were asked to, but because we love each other". Then the families started with the water works. Of course my Father upstaged me, but it was probably one of my best wedding toasts yet.

Awesome.

Thanks Mr.Wan. I'm here for you if you ever need advice with a wedding toast. My rule is that if you haven't gotten a grown man to cry during your toast, you should have prepared it better. That, or just say, "I have a toast! Who wants white and who wants rye?". Goes over great with a drunk crowd.

I respect the charities thing. I also have known a couple people who have had weddings where, instead of giving presents, people were told to bring a checkbook and make a donation to a charity instead.

As for my wife and me, we are poor as dirt... no shit... whichever one is second worse. We are not on the streets, but we don't have money for anything extra. Christmas is usually planned to be without presents, but we always end up deciding to overdraw the checking account for something for each of us. My parents also insist on getting us something we can open. So instead of getting something fancy, we usually get something we need for the apartment, usually groceries. Lame, and not selfless, but not everyone makes enough money to be selfless. Hopefully, some day we will be, and I respect and admire those who can help others during the holidays.

I usually buy things for myself all year long and not buy anything for christmas. Family usually buys me stuff I really need for christmas, things you usually don't think about like socks or cologne.
