because back in the day you can brag about it, and go to the arcade to show off, plus it gives self confidence to be a top performer at a popular game.
I do not think any one cares today if you complete COD or Mario with out dying once, or knowing the game inside out.

Dude, the 80s will come again. Only 71 more years bro, and we're back!kingmohd84 wrote:@Breetai
I surely appreciate your skills at retro games(I call them retro because everyone else does, personally I call them old games) but in this era its not worth it being that skilled at one game. You really need dedication, and there is just too many option and variety to be dedicated/loyal to few games to master. If it were the 80's , I would follow in your footsteps.
But, dedication, skills and loyalty? This generation? Games are just for fun. As for "this generation"; who cares? Racketboy is a retro/old/classic game forum. I like older games just as much (actually, usually much more than) current games. I'm not sure what you mean by "worth it", either. For me, enjoying my favourite games and having fun challenging myself at them makes this pass time totally worth it.
BTW, I DO brag about it! Most of the people I work with are all in their mid-20s to mid-30s and have all played these sorts of games and still do! Things like the VC on the Wii and emulation on DS, PSP and Wii are HUGE here in Japan with people I know. I even see kids using their flash carts on their DS/GBA to play old Famicom games fairly often.
This is why you're here too, right; to re-discover old classics and have fun with them?
