I don't see how you get that interpretation. Sounds like he hasn't learned anything, and the family is still not in the picture.Inazuma wrote:It sounds like Luke has been talking with his wife about everything recently and they have agreed to some compromises. It's my guess that they agreed to stay together, as long as Luke spends more time with the family and lessens the time/money spent on games/Youtube. This is probably the best possible outcome. The wife and kid are happy because Luke will be around more to spend time with them and Luke is happy because he can continue to make Youtube videos and play video games. If Luke does a good job with balancing family and games, everything should work out OK.

Re: lukemorse1's final video
A few times during the video Luke seemed unsure of himself. Stuff like how often he would make videos or which game stuff he was gonna keep or not. I got the impression that he was still talking that stuff over with the wife.Luke wrote:I don't see how you get that interpretation. It's almost impossible to be married with a kid and not have to compromise. If you want to keep up a high quality of living, don't get married and don't have kids. I don't know why Luke decided to do it but now that it's done he has to deal with the consequences. I just hope that he has learned from his mistakes and at the very least, doesn't have any more kids.

Life is compromise friend.
And if you marry the right person, you compliment each other, not compromise with each other. Not going to argue this anal ape droppings with you again.
To me Luke seemed out of sorts on the last video. Almost looked like he was trying to act happy when he wasn't. I almost feel sorry for the guy, but if he let his wife and kid leave him, oh well, sleep in the bed you made.

Let's reword his statement a bit.dsheinem wrote:Jesus Christ with this horse shit again.Inazuma wrote: If you want to keep up a high quality of living, don't get married and don't have kids.
If you want to maintain a carefree way of living, don't get married and don't have kids.
The root of what he's saying is that when you get married and start a family you can no longer think only about yourself; you now have to consider the other members of your household.

The notion that life is ever carefree is ludicrous, just as is the idea of a "victimless" crime. Actions=Consequences
This is just going to end up in another cyclical discussion, so I'll stop there.
Re: lukemorse1's final video
You understand the point of what I'm trying to get across, though. Right now I've had the freedom to use all of my discretionary spending on building up a collection. I'm picking up a lot of systems and games I missed when I was growing up. The only person I need to justify the spending to is myself, which is easy to do considering I'm not spending over what I make each month. If I were married I would have to justify my purchases to my wife, and likely would have less discretionary spending available anyway due to things that she wants. The more people involved in the household the more things you have to consider before spending money. I'm not saying it's bad or good, just a fact.Luke wrote:I respectfully disagree with you.MrPopo wrote:Let's reword his statement a bit.

Re: lukemorse1's final video
This reminds me of a story Dennis Miller told after he got married. Loosely paraphrasing, a friend of his said that he never wanted to get married because he never wanted to compromise. Dennis Miller responded "Man, you spend your days walking around your house in your old tighty whities, eating directly out of cereal boxes, and masturbating to the Price Is Right girls and you're going to try to convince me that you never compromise?!"Luke wrote:Life is compromise friend.

I totally agree with this definition. When you have a child it's not like buying a pet. you don't just have to feed it, groom it, and buy physical stuff for it.
When you have a child, it's like living for a second human being. You brought it into this world, you have the responsibility to see it from a baby, until it can stand on it's own in life. You can't be freaking selfish like this asshole, and spend so much money on a stupid hobby, and leave your family hungry.
you don't want double responsibilities? don't have a freaking child. it's your right.
but having a child is by no means a compromise. The exact opposite imo. If you want to live a carefree life, it means you must compromise the happiness a child brings.
