But they're what makes it a success. Which is the point.

No, fun is the point.

Success =/= fun
Sales =/= fun
Profit =/= fun
Unless you're a stock broker.

Therefore Wii =/= fun

Your logic is flawed. Since success and fun are independent of each other, as are sales and profit being independent of fun, you have no grounds for claiming the Wii is not fun from the previous statements.

And remember, Nintendo is a publically traded company. Thus, the entire point is financial success in the market. And they've succeeded. The reason they succeed is enough people find the system intruiging and/or fun. The fact that you do not care for it does not invalidate that fact. Remember, your opinion is not everyone's opinion.

All I have to say is, my list of games to get for Wii is far, far longer than for any other current gen console, and only the NES equals it when I include the lists for all other consoles I own.

If that's not a great reason to own a Wii, I don't know what is.

i cant say it enough i love the wii, its alot of fun when games use the hardware correctly. but and this is a big but there are sooo few good games for the system. hell i hate standing in the wii sections in game stores the selection is a bunch of shovelware crap, trying to make a quick buck on some mini game collection wiimote flailing game, and i relize nintendo isnt aiming at the hardcore gamers or for that matter even middle of the road gamers.....
ahh hell i hate it, 3 years 5-6 good games thats just awful and only one of those games is made by someone other than nintendo (no more heroes).
im glad nintendo is makeing money hand over fist even if sales have slowed but i have to say it, this system is got to go down as the worst best selling system of all time. i really cant see people in ten years playing its games with the nastalgia of the snes or genisis. its a gimic that caught on like wild fire, add it to pet rocks, boy bands, Macarena, acid wash blue geans shit that made alot of money but in a few years the "man i cant beleve that was so popular" statments will pop up.
and im not sayin' it wont have future good games im just saying the way nintendo marketing it isnt going to change look at there e3 i saw 2 good games a mario galaxy rehash and metroid.... thats it for 2010... so sad as a life long nintendo player, im just praying there next offering isnt another gimic.

*added* some periods to please the gammer experts probaly still missed a few.

Ok, I just scanned over this post a few times, and I can't see a single period. A few elipses, some commas, but not a single period. Did I miss it?

I've recently come to terms with the Wii. I felt very stung by it for a while, but that's simply because for the longest time it was the only next-gen console I had.

I've come to terms with the fact that I'm not the target audience for the Wii. At all. That doesn't make the system bad, it just makes it a bad choice for me personally.

I'm still not forgiving Nintendo for some of its transgressions, although the biggest one is one that they've always been guilty of - they never lower their prices. $250 for a Wii is high-way robbery.

Certainly, some people feel it is worth that much, but I'm not talking about it's perceived value. I'm talking about it's intrinsic value. The Wii is, in essence, a Gamecube+ with BlueTooth, and yet the price does not reflect this. For $50 less, I can get a machine with HD capibilities, DVD functionality, Online Support, Hard-Drive Options and more. For $50 more, I can get a machine with all of that plus Blu-Ray functionality. I honestly feel that the Wii should cost about half what it does, especially considering the X360 and PS3 both cost about half what they did when they first came out.

I'll never forget November 2006 - November 2007. Was the most fun year I had ever experienced. After that, though? The dream was dead. The following year, the only game that was around to keep me warm was Brawl, and it could only keep me from looking enviously at the other systems for a small amount of time.

I was just going to argue that $250 is cheap enough and that I worry more about game prices because that I will pay over and over, again and again. But putting it that way just made me realize how much the Wii is over priced. I bet they make 80% markup on the system.
