No I admitted that he was right by his PERSONAL definition. Not the law's definition. Which was summed up in the next sentence.

Yes, and the point is: if the sole purpose of the law is to reward those who create the games and punishes pirates but not the second handers, the law is inconsistent and hence wrong. Thus, cops behave according to falsehoods, as I said.

Someone might say, "Well, yeah, but the law is not solely about rewarding creators. There are other factors involved." And that's fine, but if so, this point about rewarding the creator for the work should not be brought up in this discussion, since it weakens the overall argument (assuming it isn't fundamentally about paying creators and investors, that is).

Yes, yes, fine. But what I was saying is REGARDLESS of whether the law is "right" or "wrong," it's still WRONG to BREAK THE LAW. Right?

I don't think so, no. Depends on which law.

This is hilarious to me. You can't just admit that by definition, breaking the law is "wrong."

I think we'll all agree that breaking the law is, by definition, illegal. However, that doesn't necessarily make it "wrong", as that puts it into the complex sphere of morality.

Agreed. I just found the dragging-of-the-feet a bit funny. I pictured a courtroom scene as such:

Judge: jfrost, you broke the law.
jfrost: what's wrong with that?

No. As St. Augustine said, "An unjust law is no law at all."
