11 yr old college graduate says: video game is waste of time

You bring up a good point Molotovwars, I did not think about that. It is quite possible he was rejected from a big name college.

Impressive kids mentioned here (especially the runescape player with douche bags for parents) I graduated high school on time but at an older age of almost 19 because I started school late. Also I took a year off to do other things in my teen years. This talk of community college is interesting I have a cousin who goes and am trying to talk my younger brother into going and quitting high school to do so as he doesn't do his work anyway.
I feel bad for the kid though if he doesn't have any hobbies gaming or not and I hate when people say something someone else does for pleasure is a waste

I would heartily encourage anyone bored with HS to finish up at a Community College. That's what I did. Either take CC courses for high school credit if they allow that, or get a GED and go straight for the college credit. CC work isn't any harder than HS work, and they actually treat you as an adult. Once you have a degree, no one cares what you did in HS. Use the associates degree to get you into a 4 year school, and you can do anything from there, even if you were a total fuckup in HS.

If you are academically motivated, though, finishing in high school has a lot of benefits in terms of scholarship opportunities if you're planning to go to college, even if it is boring.
It also helps you place out of the more remedial classes once you get to college.

If you graduate community college, you're essentially done with the first 2 years of college. You might be able to take a semesters worth of AP classes if you stick with HS. With CC you're done with 2 years, and it's a lot cheaper.
It probably won't get you into Harvard, but prestigious schools are more about the name than the education. You can get an excellent education at a state school, and use that to get you into a world class graduate program. That's what I did, though I didn't finish for completely unrelated reasons.
