RPG Progress Report
Re: RPG Progress Report
I'm three hours into Tales of Eternia and it's picking up with some other characters and the story is getting more interesting, but I'm not sure if it's really hooking me in. Despite how feel good the game feels with its music and graphics. It's maybe too easy? Or I can just button mash battles and easily get through them. Not sure what to think so far.

Re: RPG Progress Report
OB64 plays hardly anything like PSP Tactics Ogre. Very different tactical/strategy RPG styles.PartridgeSenpai wrote:I've had the N64 Tactics Ogre for a good while, but I've just been too intimidated to learn a whole new way to play games on the fly Xp
Maybe I'll watch some LP's of the PSP version sometime to get a more general idea how to play first. That tends to make me more comfortable with playing new strategy games. That's how I learned to play all of my (would be) favorites! (Crusader Kings II, Civ 5, Blood Bowl)

It's still fun, don't get me wrong. But "kill the leader" as the default mission objective gets old fast.Jmustang1968 wrote:Don't say such blasphemy.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Skyrim
I'm not sure how best to play, but I've basically been using Whiterun as my base of operations and completing quests in an ever expanding circle from there. Currently I'm down in Falkreath and following a magical dog.

Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

I also own OB64 and have yet to give it a go. Guess I'll have to hook up the ol' N64 at some point...
Re: RPG Progress Report
That should change. I remember hitting a brick wall at some point. (I still haven't beaten the game, I think I got to Disc 2.)Xeogred wrote:I'm three hours into Tales of Eternia and it's picking up with some other characters and the story is getting more interesting, but I'm not sure if it's really hooking me in. Legend of Heroes has an Othello minigame.
Realized that I have no idea how to play Othello.

Re: RPG Progress Report
Othello's pretty simple. You try to capture an unbroken line of enemy colored pieces between two of your pieces, flipping them all to be your color. And then you get massively trashed when you realized you left yourself open while trying to take enemy pieces.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Legend of Heroes has an Othello minigame.
