I can understand that, I have a lot less tolerance for that than I used to.

same here. I gave up on GTA5 due to a similar glitch. I had a lot of fun with that game and spent many hours in it. But when I couldn't proceed the story, I just uninstalled.

I remember trudging through whichever King's Quest had that godforsaken desert where you were trying to find an oasis through trial-and-error and thinking "Man, this is a totally sweet game." But alas, I was like 7 or 8.

That's King's Quest V. You start out with Graham at a house, work your way to town or elsewhere, but it rolls back to needing to go through the desert on a very specific path or you're screwed if you go too far out.

That's why mom bought me paper with gridlines! Oh, and King's Quest V means I was 12! Jeesh. My memory sucks.

Re: Broken Sword - They didn't fix the 'glitch' or whatever you would call it in the GameBoy Advance remake. Which was a huge WTF moment. As far as I know though, it's fixed in the remastered version, which is available for Wii and I assume DS and tablets? Someone can correct me on that though if they want. I just know I have it on the Wii.

I'm pretty sure I don't like Battletoads. I appreciate a lot of the stuff they've done in the game from a technical standpoint, but every time I give it a try there's just something off about the hit detection and controls for me. I always feel like I'm going to cramp up because I'm pressing the D-pad and buttons really hard for some reason, like I can't quite get it to do what I want.

The difficulty doesn't really bother me, I'm just not inclined to go very far. Once the game's rep wore off after a few plays I had zero desire to pick it up again.

It isn't just you, the game is like that. And really the difficulty is mostly just a phantom. The game itself isn't really hard, just a few stages are obscenely cheap ass where you have to have an extreme sense of fast movement, timing, and a strong memory to remember what to do as it's too late if you're looking for it like with those speeder stages. It's why I no longer have the game, I like it, but I can't stand not being able to do those stages. Anytime I've passed them the rest of the game back in the day wasn't an issue.

Not sure that's necessarily unpopular. It's always been a pretty polarizing title. It's not a game I hate but it's also not a game I like very much.

It was game design at the time - you had to make your own maps. And I can definitely see plenty of people not being a big fan of that.

Of course, King's Quest was big on "Die a thousand times, hope you have saves!" - the most objectionable being (in my opinion) back in V again, where if you didn't save the rat from the cat, you ended up dying stuck in a basement like an hour later.
