I didn't even know Brandish 2 existed. Looking forward to your thoughts on that one

There's also a Brandish 3 and 4. 8)

I'm a huge Falcom nut so importing this was a must.

Brandish 2 is a lot like the first one. Same weird controls.

There is a translation patch apparently too.

Just played through some Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi before leaving to my Grandma's for Thanksgiving. Didn't want to get into anything too deep, so I chose that.

Dang, I forgot how freaking hard these games were! They don't give you break on the first stage, even. They just throw you in a land-speeder, full-speed ahead, watch out for obstacles and pits, no tutorial at all or controls explanation. Just "Go now! Don't die!"

But man, that light-saber double-jump attack sure is sweet. It's like the Metroid Screw Attack, but it's a default attack!

How does it compare to the Super Famicom Magic Knights Rayearth RPG?

The only things they have in common are the facts that both are RPGs based on manga/anime and both have English patches.

Magic Knight Rayearth is very short and easy. Sailor Moon RPG is quite lengthy and involved. A good amount of grinding is required too. Both games are good.

It's interesting to note that every Magic Knight Rayearth game is an RPG, which is appropriate as the series was meant to be something of a parody of JRPG games.

There are of course tons of Sailor Moon games, but only one (the Super Famicom one I mentioned) is an RPG. I believe the only Sailor Moon games to be released in the states are the arcade beat 'em up and The 3D Adventures of Sailor Moon (PC).

The Sailor Moon RPG is actually a pretty solid game, and has a neat magic system to boot. There are definitely some parts at which a controller was spiked at the floor from being killed because I was trying to do some things at too low a level, but it isn't really that hard :P

if you plan to check it out: save often.

Well, my SNES gaming is continuing on. I've made it onto the Top 10 Most Completes board on Backloggery! I'm currently sitting at 135 completed SNES games, though I'm currently looking to add more by the end of the year. The previous #10 was at 132, so I need to further cement my lead and go for #9, who sits at 150. The SNES GunForce port is the game that brought me to 132, and 133 was Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie.

To continue on, I'm currently playing Spider-Man & Venom: Maximum Carnage. I've played through quite a few SNES beat 'em ups this year(The Death and Return of Superman, Brawl Brothers, Peace Keepers, Cliffhanger, Ultimate Fighter, Captain America and the Avengers, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie, Batman Returns), and Maximum Carnage has a lot going for it, but there's a lot that I really dislike too. The dynamic of having two characters with different levels is really cool, but the enemies are excessively repetitive, and to make things challenging, the boss fights are ridiculous. Also, even though I'm playing alone, why wasn't there a multiplayer mode!?

Whoa your SNES collection is huge too.

I should hit 100 games next year (though I am lumping SNES and Super Famicom together).
