Watched Hip Hop Gamer's video earlier today, but like Hobie, I started to skip through the video cause I couldn't really take it. Seems like a fun guy, just not my style.

Also watched the entire TMNT live stream from Megabit. They played through Hyperstone Heist and then played about 10 minutes of Turtles in Time at the end. Seemed to work great and I'm feeling pretty confident that this is going to be a good system.

Did anyone pre-order their unit through VGMX.com? A new email surfaced over on Facebook -

"We have finally received word from Hyperkin about the upcoming Retron 5 release. The first round of consoles will be shipping to distributors on May 16th with a second shipment early June. As soon as it arrives we will begin fulfilling preorders. Hyperkin has increased the recommended price to $140.00 BUT we will be honoring the original $100 price for all preorder customers only. The console will come with one bluetooth controller. We will have additional controllers available in June for $40.00. Hyperkin has told us that the controllers will be available in limited quantities early on. We are offering them to preorder customers first to show our appreciation for sticking with us (and Hyperkin) through all the delays. Mine is through Amazon, so hopefully I'll get mine around the same time as VGMX.com ships theirs out.

If the review by Hip Hop Gamer is to be trusted (and I see no reason why it shouldn't) it sounds like the controller that comes with the console isn't very good. Not really surprised, but I REALLY want to be able to use it because of the blu tooth wireless. I've got some of my old Genesis controllers and a knock off SNES one, but the wires just don't make it optimal for me.

A blu tooth wireless SNES controller would be heaven.

Yes and yes.

I am 99.9% positive you can use any controller for any game (NES, SNES, Genesis) for whatever console. So with that being said, having the option for button remaps would almost be a requirement.

yeah they actually said that in an interview and posted it on Facebook a while back to clarify. Any system with any controller!

There was a YouTube video a while back where Chris Gallizzi goes over almost the entire menu and all of it's options. He talks about controller swapping and button remapping there. You should be able to get the controllers to behave however you want for whatever system you want.
