Sadly, that is about how much time I spent with Dragon Quest IX (and I still did not complete all of the extras, legacy bosses, etc.).

Unless I am really really obsessed w/ a game - I'm talking that really rare, "only comes along once in a generation" game (so I guess now, XCOM) - I'm just not a completionist. I generally want to play a game's "main story" or whatever and then on to the next one.

My wife hates watching me play something like SMB or Sonic, cuz she's like "watching you run past all those coins/rings without picking them up is driving me nuts."

Yes. The bare-chested fairy stautes were big deal back at the time of its release. According to Wikipedia:

Indeed, certain advertisements for the game often made note of the controversy. Yet, programmer Kevin Seghetti stated that the changes on the Genesis version were done voluntarily.
