I discovered another store in Georgia while browsing Craigslist.

Retro Games
1641 Hwy 129 S
Unit D
Cleveland, GA 30528
706-219-3388
http://www.retrogamesforu.com/

It is on the way to my in-laws so expect a review from me sometime soon.

If you would prefer to view this information in Google Maps format, fellow Racketeer nielse16 has gone through the trouble of putting together a user-editable Google Map for the directory. As of now, it contains only entries for Michigan stores, but you can add your own stores to the map, too (just don't forget to post the store info in the thread, as well, so we can keep both of them up-to-date). You just need to log into the map with the following information:

RGSD Google Map: http://g.co/maps/9bfyr

Google Map updated with all known Michigan Locations.

Yeah, I actually live down the street from that one; I just forgot to add it. :P

Anyway, the list is updated, and thanks to nielse16 for updating the Google Map!

Also, I wanted to give a shout-out to Treasure Quest in Kalamazoo. In addition to games, they've got a bunch of cheap anime VHS tapes, and are willing to negotiate with prices.

I'll give a +1 to Media Exchange in Wisconsin. It's actually called "Mega Media Xchange."

Generally a decent store. Selection varies since they're one of the only retro game stores in the area. Some days there's not much of interest, and others you'll find rare gems for half of ebay price. Common games are uncommonly inexpensive. I bought Outrun 2006 on PSP for $2 there!

5th and 6th gen games are cheap, prices for earlier consoles can vary wildly. They'll sell Mario 3 for $10 and Blaster Master for $1. I have no idea how they decide on their prices. :? Console prices - $30 for a Dreamcast, $40 for a PS2, $30 for a Gamecube. Can't remember others off the top of my head. Strategy guides are always cheap. They come in $2, $3, and $6 varieties but are perpetually "half off."

Trade in prices are too high or too low, but they make a reasonable average. They offered $4 for Rainbow Six on Dreamcast and $.50 for Final Fantasy X  They require the original case for every game, and recently I think they started requiring manuals. That is a good policy.

A nice, clean place with friendly staff and different stock every time I visit. Returns must be made in 7 days. They also sell DVDs and music, but games take up 2/3 of the store.

One major complaint: They resurface every disc you buy regardless of condition. This makes ugly swirl marks. A disc can only take so much resurfacing, so it's foolish to "repair" it when it works fine! They test discs before resurfacing but not after. I once got a ruined copy of RE4 this way and didn't have time to return it in a week.

Even Blu-Rays get resurfaced, which is bunk because they have a protective plastic layer built in. Resurfacing will only remove that protection! Just ask them not to put your PS3 games in the machine.
Tsun tsun dere tsun dere tsun tsun~ . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . UPDATED trade list

Yeah, it's a good store; I make it a point to stop by every time I'm in Appleton. My favorite part about the store is their absolutely massive selection of guides. My only complaint, though, is that about 60% of their stock is sports games. In fact, I dare you to find one game for a Sega console in that store (except for Game Gear) that isn't a sports game.

Found another one in Georgia. I am surprised no one has mentioned this one since it is close to the Mall of Georgia.

J2Games
1328 Buford Hwy

Buford, GA 30518

Hopefully I can review it as well in the near future as it is only slightly out of my way when visiting the in-laws.

Video Game Wizards [Portland] - +1 for this store.

I had a chance to finally visit this store as I've seen their HUGE booth at the Portland Retro Game Expo. The store is really amazing and packed from floor to celing in video games and game items. Staff seems pretty friendly and if you buy enough stuff they are willing to deal on the price. It is right off the I-205 and easy to get to.

[edit]Didn't realize these were actually rated in this thread, I don't think it actually deserves a -1, i'm just not a fan of the store

I'll give it a -1. I've been in several, the staff is generally slow (last time it took two of them nearly 15 minutes to complete my transaction) and typically they're just unwilling/unable to help you. I don't know if i've ever seen one leave the counter.

The selection is good, and the prices are typically fair. But the staff just kills me at those stores.

If you're at the Appleton location, just go to Half-Price books instead. It's on the same street.

Or just drive a bit further down the state to this place:

Video Game X-Change
3002 Atwood Ave
Madison, WI
(608) 249-9811

The owner is a top notch dude. Gives a discount for cash purchases, even though the prices are already more than fair. He's got a great stock of current and retro games, and every time i'm in there I find something weird that i'd never expect to see in the wild.

I tell my friends in Madison that i'm going to visit them, but the reality is, I drive there to go to this store.
