RPG Progress Report
Re: RPG Progress Report
I played Mass Effect by being mostly good and punching people in the face that were asking for it or had a punchable face.

My Femshep was pretty much a goodie two shoes.
She even saved (and romanced) Kaiden.

Vanguard for life. Dashing in and shotgunning dudes in the face never gets old.
Also, male Shep, and good guy. Always good guy. I can't bring myself to do anything different. I literally agonized over one decision in Pillars of Eternity because I wanted a certain stat boost, but couldn't bring myself to do it. Even when I'm playing a fantasy game, I'm apparently trying to be in character from real life.

Eww, Kaiden is terrible.isiolia wrote:My Femshep was pretty much a goodie two shoes.

I play every RPG as a character that can run up and punch/shoot people in the face. I cannot stand squishy characters; the only reason I rolled a mage in DA:I was because I knew DA liked to give mages sufficient buffs to be able to handle combat just fine, and the Knight Enchanter did not let me down.

Re: RPG Progress Report
I just wanna stand over here and pick things off from afar w/ a bow and arrow. Maybe that's my problem w/ ME... no bow and arrow.

I do this too. The next one I play, however, I am definitely going to be just as evil as possible. We'll see how that goes...Sarge wrote:Even when I'm playing a fantasy game, I'm apparently trying to be in character from real life.

And that right there is your problem. Come on, noise! Get comfortable with gore! You gotta wander knee-deep into the dead and stack 'em up like cord wood! Get your hands bloody! Because nothing is better than watching the life drain from your enemy's face as you beat them into a bloody pulp, up close and personal-like.noiseredux wrote:I just wanna stand over here and pick things off from afar w/ a bow and arrow. I played as an Adept. Many years of FFXI RDM made me pretty crowd-control minded. I think I tend to opt for hybrid classes more often than not really.
I'd say that I try to play things more like I actually would in real life, at least for initial playthroughs. Once that's been done, then it's easier to go with the evil route or something, because it's more like just seeing what the other road was.
Re: RPG Progress Report
Have you played a little game called ... The Last of Us? I have a feeling it would be right up your alley, the bow and arrow alley and the survival horror alley specifically.noiseredux wrote:I just wanna stand over here and pick things off from afar w/ a bow and arrow.
