What was the last movie you've seen?

I saw two movies yesterday. The first one was Zookeeper. It was horrid. I knew exactly what was going to happen anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes in advance of it happening. All the animals sported hipster voice acting, and very obvious CGI touch-ups. Highly obnoxious TGI Friday's product placement was shoehorned into the movie, for no purpose other than to make money. All the characters bugged me. The only reason I saw the movie was because I was with a group, and we went to a movie in addition to other things. I would have watched a different movie, but nothing else was playing around the same times as Zookeeper.

Then I got home, and attempted to clear my mind with Bean: The Movie, which I found far more enjoyable. However, I think Mr. Bean's Vacation was a better movie, as it was much more true to the original TV show.

I take my movie watching (at times) very seriously, but I have to admit I want to see ZOOKEEPER. If it's awfully written and there aren't attempts at actual jokes, then I have no interest. But, it looks like it could be an awful-awesome movie that would be fun to riff on with friends. If it doesn't have a ton of corny old and obvious jokes, let me know, but if it does, I'm in.

Product placement only to make money? How outlandish ;)

You talk about drawn-out and then name The Rocketeer? That movie is the poster-boy for drawn-out origins. But it sure does look pretty, capturing the feel of those old pulps perfectly.

My favorite superhero movies:

1. Batman Begins. I liked the drawn out origin, because it actually seemed relevant with Batman. He's not a guy who gets hit by lightning and suddenly gets powers. He's a guy who has to decide to become a superhero, and basically develop his "powers" on his own.

2. Spiderman 2

3. The Dark Knight

4. Kick Ass

5. X2

6. Spiderman

7. Iron Man 2

8. Iron Man

9. Batman

10. Superman/Superman 2

It's very similar to Night at the Museum and Garfield: The Movie as far as style and quality goes. I don't know if those qualify as "awful-awesome" to you, but if they do, you'll like Zookeeper.

I watched Love and Other Drugs yesterday. Anne Hathaway is naked all over the place in that movie, I approve
