Re: 2014 Together Retro Calendar
My plans:
Jan - Phantasy Star Online - Dreamcast
Feb - Metal Gear - Maybe on NES if I can find it local and cheap.
Mar - M.U.L.E. - Maybe on NES if I can find it local and cheap.
Apr - Shock Troopers - I'll pick it up on Neo Geo X!
May - The Lost Vikings - SNES and Genesis. MAYBE Amiga CD32 if I can find it online for cheap.
Jun - Psychonauts - Maybe on PS2 or Xbox if I can find it local and cheap.
Jul - Ikaruga - GameCube
Aug - Dungeons and Dragons ToD and SoM - I'll pick up Mystara on PS3. Dunno if I'll play Tower of Doom. I can't afford the Saturn compilation.
Sep - F-Zero Series - I'll pick up the first game on SNES. Maybe I'll explore the rest of the series if I get into it.
Oct - I Have No Mouth & Typing of the Dead - both of these are pretty rare, right? I'll probably skip this month.
Nov - Ultima IV - I own the NES port, so I'll be going with that.
Dec - Space Harrier - TurboGrafx-16

Chronicles of Mystara on PS3, 360 and Wii U includes both Tower of Doom and Shadow over Mystara. That's kinda the whole reason I nominated both.

Whoa I didn't know that...
So the physical (Japanese) PS3 game has both games on the disc? None of my consoles are online.

I'd buy the SATURN compilation and resell when yr done. It has maintained the same value for years. The new compilations are somehow not as good graphically and the whole re-port just seems off. Washy.
You'll be able to resell for the same price i'd think. Getting a new version you'll probably actually lose more if you go to resell.

Bone if none of your consoles are online, then maybe consider getting D&D on Steam so that you can actually CAN play online.
Also, I Have No Mouth is like $6 on GOG.
Typing of the Dead is generally under $25 for a CIB copy on DC. Obviously less if you're not picky about CIB. Though there's the added expense of DC keyboards...
EDIT: Oh, and if anyone needs Shock Troopers I have a SNK Arcade Wii compilation in my FS thread...

Ikaruga will be out on Steam by next July, so I'll likely play it on PC.

Not rare at all. I Have No Mouth was recently $2 on Steam and is $6 on Gog every day of the week. Physical release will be much more expensive - $60+BoneSnapDeez wrote:Oct - I Have No Mouth & Typing of the Dead - both of these are pretty rare, right? I'll probably skip this month.
Typing of the Dead on the PC is rarer, but on the Dreamcast it is uncommon, and goes for about $25 on Ebay. Ive bought and sold several copies of each version from Goodwills.
