Re: Shin Megami Tensei IV
It's called C&C. In other words: roleplaying. If you don't want to save the world, or you've made decisions that means you are unable to save the world, then that's it. It's just as valid ending as the others. Sure in regular games you can usually divide different endings into different categories, but one of the features that makes SMT different from most other JRPGs (among other things) is that some of the games feature roleplaying

Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

Like I said earlier, if you are happy with the ending, fine. It's just that I, personally, would continue playing after getting that ending. And I would much rather go for chaos, neutral, or law. There's probably not any reason to continue this.
Just different views.
In my play through of P4 I got the bad ending on purpose and found it completely unfulfilling. But some people may have liked it and stopped there. And that is alright.

I had actually started typing something and realized I was just rehashing what we already discussed weeks ago in this same thread.
dsheinem wrote:yup. It kind of kills the fun of the "role playing" part if you are following a guide to tell you what role to play in order to get a particular conclusion.noiseredux wrote:yeah that's fine (for you). I'm not being confrontational, I'm just sort of noticing that some of us have different views of such things in games. For me, in my opinion, if my actions in a game without using a FAQ mean that my game ends up whatever - 15 hrs and someone else's and at 20 hrs or whatever, I'm really fine with it. I guess I just don't feel like I'm being robbed of any part of the experience if the outcome is from my own version of the journey.

see, 100%

Interestingly enough. That one choice noise made to get the ending he got cancels out all alignment choices he made during the game. Alignment no longer matters when you choose that ending. I just find that kind of fun to think about.

How do you do neutral? Seemed like there were only 3 options there, two of them being Law and Chaos and the third routing you back to the "bad" ending.ZenErik wrote:That's the bad ending. I would at least load the save again to play through neutral, law, or chaos. I wouldn't even count the bad ending as finishing the game, personally.
Just like getting the bad ending in Persona 4. A good 10+ hours shorter than the real endings. But your choice!

are you wearing a hat in real life, Mitch? I've heard that to get "the good ending" you need to be wearing a hat.Stark wrote:How do you do neutral?
