I don't think there will or should be a sequel or a "franchise" to Inception, and I trust Nolan not to go this route.

I hope so.

Inception still doesn't scream 'franchise' to me at all. I just can't see a sequel happening.

SPOILER ALERT > > Besides, I could've sworn the totem began to wobble right as the scene cut out. It's just an ambiguous ending, no need to really read that much more into it.

Comment on same SPOILER: Its fresh in my mind, and I can say it most definitely did begin to wobble a few seconds before the cut. Where it goes from there I'd say is up to the viewer.

I didn't get a sequel vibe either.

To me the whole thing was about making you question whether or not it was a "happy" ending and what actually happened in those final moments before the conclusion.

As the viewer, you're not given a resolution, and even though I saw it coming and it kinda bugs me, I thought it was a great way to end the movie. After all, the whole thing was built on all of these layers, and there is never a point where you aren't meant to question what's happening.

Well its not like the people that make sequels even ask themselves that question all that often.

We think alike  . And yes, it's so dull and lifeless for the first hour and 15 minutes that you'll end up falling asleep when the cool stuff starts hapenning and trust me, I love slow movies, otherwise I would have hated Tarkovsky's films.

I fucking love EVERY moment of that film. I've seen it AT LEAST 20 times. I don't find it slow at all -- but I'm a huge fan of USA Up All Night. If that makes sense to you. Haha.

I thought death proof was boring too. One of the few movies where I actually fast forwarded on my first viewing (the part with the girls in the restaurant talking about absolutely nothing while the camera went around in circles). Planet Terror was awesome though.

And I thought the Inception ending was just left open for interpretation. Didn't get the feeling that they were setting up for a sequel at all. There are approximately 25,493,328 threads over on imdb and throughout the internet about whether the ending was still a dream or not so I hope to god we're not about to go down that route here.
