Check for the NES Classic adapter inside, very unlikely in there since a recent fix. As is, the gamepad works just fine on the Wii. You might be able to get the adapter free directly at the Emio site. Good that you snagged that gamepad, a concern if The Edge Gamepad or The Edge Joystick will ever come back to the stores due to the Factory Recall. Even now, the stores still not available.

Any refunds of the Emio Edge pads and stick (possibly returns just after Christmas) are locked to "Return To Supplier" because of the mandated recall. If you have connections with say Best Buy might ask now to save a possible Christmas refund for you to buy. Or jump at Amazon while still available.

THIS. With the lost sales of the NES Classic, Nintendo will be doing the catch up production with enough stock maybe by March? Perhaps even a revision fix (unlikely) to support the Emio and other 3rd party controllers?

Not that much of a shortage for the NES Classic here at the moment. Three different stores-all have "decent" stock. Picked another one up for my niece.

It's not in there, I knew I forgot something. I don't have a Wii, though I do have the controller synced to my laptop. Guess I'll have to see about trying find that part.

I'm pretty sure that the ridiculously prohibitive expense of console games back then was what led to me being a collector in adulthood. I've heard the same behaviour occurs in people who were lost at sea. They were starved of food and start hoarding food. We were starved of games and start hoarding games.

I had similar levels of excitement when I first saw Renegade 3 had been released, followed by equal disappointment that it was a big box full price release!

Followed by even worse disappointment when I finally got it and realised it was a multi-load atrocity of awful gameplay!

I know how that feels. I figure my hoarding tendencies are a direct result of my having to work so hard at finding games when younger. And I did find some cool stuff! But I very, very rarely bought anything new. Most of my game acquisitions came from yard sales and pawn shops, with the occasional game from a salvage store that also had some cool toys in it for the time it was open.

These days, that void is filled by Dirt Cheap. Although I really haven't found any amazing game deals as of late. I think I've been reticent to drop a whole lot of cash, and they're sometimes overpriced to make up for the 50+% discount. (I did see a copy of Pokken Tournament in there, but really, I'm not even looking to drop $30 on it, but I know someone did!)

That Emio Edge Gamepad there was a sticker loosely on the front of the box I peeled off, not sure if it was Walmart's or theirs, but it was dated Dec 13th.

Reason I bring this up, the controller works fine with no adapter needed. Their own website is selling all their joysticks and pads too as I had loaded it up in case, so it appears they are now fixed and shipping good parts that work with the little Nintendo.

my wife got me one for christmas. it was a lot smaller than i thought it would be but it is very enjoyable!

I really appreciated reading about our European members' experiences with the NES and how it wasn't the overwhelming success that it was in the states. It's as if there's an alternate universe where SMS reigns supreme.

Not SMS. Hardly anyone had one of those, either.

C64, Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, Amiga and Atari ST were people's platforms of choice. It was all about home computers back then. Consoles were kind of dismissed as expensive, limited toys until the 16 bit era.

The Master System was pretty big in the UK, from my own experiences. A lot of my friends/family had Master Systems, but I only knew a couple couple of people with a NES.

I knew more people with Amigas though.
