As predicted, my three Pokemon in the downtown gyms were all sent back to me by 7pm yesterday. But Fluffball and Eggplant are still holding strong in Eggplant's Trail Gym and Fluffball's Far Off Post.

I'm hoping they both last a couple more days. I'm actually not too worried about Fluffball's location at the moment and the Trail gym actually increased to 18k prestige since yesterday, so hopefully neither will fall too soon. And if they do fall, I hope it's while I'm out and not after I make it back home tomorrow

If the two of them can miraculously make it to Thursday again, I'll be understandably thrilled.

Who knows about those gyms, right?

So I said last night I wouldn't battle. *sigh* I lied. Flagpole gym was Instinct with just a weak Electabuzz. Send in the "Bulldoze"r!

At this time I was able to get a bonus for 4 gyms. I didn't even care about holding this high traffic gym on a Saturday, I also didn't want to have to waste a Hyper Potion. So to get the bonus and to use as few items as possible, engage maximum gym trolling!

He lasted an amazing *30* minutes before Mystic took over with a troll of their own, a Pidgey at 230CP and an Arbok above 500CP. Needless to say, I went back to kick them out, and left a low HP Venomoth with Confusion/Psychic there. It lasted a few hours, but it appears that Valor without me took it over, now at L3. Good show!

But my other 3 gyms looking good. Flareon is in at 3 weeks now, and Exeggutor is hanging in at a now Level 7 gym and Vaporeon is in a Level 9 gym, so I should easily get 30 more coins tomorrow. I hope to get a full set of incubators soon too for my 9 5km eggs, they need to get done!

Didn't do much yesterday. Just went out for a quick re-stock so I have enough Poke balls for the week. It was too hot to do much else. I did manage to catch a wild Slowbro (848 CP) and another Gastly while I was out, but the usual water Pokemon that typically spawn there didn't show up. The most exciting thing that happened was my 10k egg hatched and I netted a new-

Magmar

My two defenders are still holding strong at their posts. Picked up my 20 coins for yesterday and today. Just a little bit more and I can get me another incubator :)

Magmar is good in a pinch when you need some fire.

I got all new incubators for the 9 5km eggs I have. Other than that, more re-supplying for (hopefully) this weekend. I have been getting 30 coins a day so income is here. I also got more lure modules.

The only gym activity I did today was lop a level off 2 Instinct gyms and a Mystic gym. I need to save my items. My bag storage is up to 800 now and I want to conitnue to fill it. But I also learned that 2200CP Snorlax'es are nothing but HP walls. Seriously.

I don't think I'm going to be able to go for my Friday re-stock walk tomorrow due to the storm (damn hurricane.) I am very bummed about this, as I was beginning to enjoy my little walks, but sadly it can't be helped.

I hatched another 10k egg this week. Got another Scyther. Not as strong as i'd hoped, but it'll come in handy when I have to take out a lot of Exeggutors.

Both my defenders are still holding their posts. I suppose people don't feel like fighting at Gyms when there's a storm a brewin'.

Um...well that's all I have to report. Here's hoping I'll be able to go out this weekend without having to step over too much fallen debris.

New updates regarding features coming in the next version.

We are adding a new feature which grants a catch bonus when you earn medals based on catching certain types of Pokémon (Kindler, Psychic, Gardener, etc.). These new bonuses will give you a better chance of capturing Pokémon with a related type. For example, as you reach a higher tier for the Kindler Medal, your bonus to catch Fire-type Pokémon such as Charmander, Vulpix and Ponyta increases.

Trainers can work their way to a new tier by catching many Pokémon of the same type. If a Pokémon has multiple types, your bonus will be the average of your bonuses for each type. For example, Pidgey is both Normal and Flying type. Your bonus in this case would be the average of your Normal-type and Flying-type bonuses.

Also an update to training in friendly gyms -

In an upcoming version of Pokémon GO, when training at a friendly Gym, Trainers will be able to bring six Pokémon to battle instead of one. In addition, the CP of the Pokémon you are training against may be temporarily adjusted lower during your training session to generally match your Pokémon’s battle capabilities. No matter what your level, you can now have an impact on your team’s Gym.

Pictures of the following updates can be found at the following links.

Catch Bonus 2
Catch Bonus 3

Gym

As for my gyms, the Level 7 gym fell today after a week, not bad. I still have 2 gyms, the other one that's also been around for the past week still is and it is at level 9.

I also was finally able to get my Arcanine through evolution. It's got Bite (Dark) and Flamethrower and I found both attacks super effective against Exeggutors so that's gonna be another good one to use.

My Lapras is still at the library gym, but is now in slot 6, and the lowest mon on the totem pole is a 17xx cp Lapras instead of a 16xx Flareon. That means the gym has seen some activity, but whenever I go by is is maxed out at level 10, so there must be a strong group of Valor players keeping it reinforced.

Finally the problem of the gym is being semi-resolved. Training has become a pain in the ass around here because often when I find a red gym they're loaded to the max or damn near it and they're all people with I'm guessing no lives other than Pokemon due to their levels and you can't get in let alone successfully train. Allowing 6 to go in, and a CP shuffle to make for a square training environment will be a benefit.

Dratinis, who needs em?

Niantic has just effectively shut down all third-party trackers with some reworking of the code today, so Pokestumble and other sites will not work until further notice. I was just using that to gather gym intelligence and now we can't do that anymore. It was only a few weeks, but it was really nice. But tomorrow I'll be doing a lot more activity, and hope to add a few more.
