CRT, we looked into that a while ago and the only answer we were given was to do it by hand. It is something in the forum software that cannot be changed easily.

Thanks. Its a minor thing anyways, more of a curious as to why. No need to look into it further, since the important part already takes place. A rename update of any OP sticks in the listing of the Board Index, handy such as an updated Sales Thread.

What do people think about getting an Atari sub-forum going in the "Platforms" section? Considering the sheer number of systems and the games unique to them, it seems odd we don't have them broken out.

(Of course this suggestion may be related to my recent 7800 kick... )

Makes sense to me. Atari ST, VCS, 5200, 7800, Lynx, Jaguar ...not a bad amount to focus a forum on.

I don't think enough posts are made about Atari games and consoles to warrant it personally.

I feel there would be if we had the subforum, though :)

I'd talk Atari if we had the forum for it.

edit:
What about instead of just "Atari" make it "Atari, Coleco, and Mattel"?
That would cover everything Atari and the Coleco/Intellivision.

I'm not sure there would be enough traffic either, but if we did then a lot of it would probably be older stuff. Perhaps lump in Magnavox/Odyssey, Vectrex and other pre-crash stuff?

That would leave out the bulk of Atari's systems, though.

The argument is that we have a forum for Nintendo (at least 5 consoles, 5 handhelds), Sega (at least 4 consoles, 1 handheld), and Sony and MS (5 consoles, 2 handhelds, and PC - also grouped together becasue of LARGE crossover of titles), and then one for everything else. In that "everything else" category only Atari (at least 4 consoles and 1 handheld - much like Sega) has any history even approaching those of the other major manufacturers.

I think that's sufficient reason to warrant its own sub-forum, and might lead to an uptick in Atari talk - which I would see as a good thing as I feel a lot of folks here are fairly unfamiliar and/or dismissive of the company's products...

I meant lumping the other old consoles with all old Atart stuff, including up to the Jag. That way old pre-crash Atari and sort of broken but still making hardware Atari is included. Honestly if people are talking about Atari, it is mostly going to be 70s and 80s stuff anyway.

Post sale Atari is just a husk with the name being slapped on software, so doesn't count.
