CRT, in the cacophony of media you consume and share here, how do you personally arrive at a determination that something is factual (or not)?

Did Donald Trump say (or tweet) it? If so, then it is true.

Did Sean Hannity say it? If so, then it is true.

Did it come from a source other than politicalinsider.com? If so, then it is false.

I actually visited the site that he keep linking on the thread, and it is hilarious. I honestly can't believe that a grown man would get news from a source like that. Here is an excerpt from one of the articles:

CRT is a true believer, and literally nothing that any of us say to him could alter his devotion to Donald Trump. In fact, nothing Donald Trump could say or do would alter his devotion either. I am quite certain - and I am sure that forthcoming events will reveal - that Donald Trump can openly renege on each and every one of his campaign promises, and none of it would matter to CRT. He could re-appoint Hillary Clinton to Secretary of State, and CRT would hail it as a stroke of political genius. He could advocate an open-borders policy with Mexico, Syria, and North Korea, and CRT would hail it as bringing jobs back to America. He could move to increase the individual tax rate to 100%, and CRT would hail it as a fantastic way to balance the budget.

He is a true believer, and no amount of evidence will overcome the cognitive dissonance required for him to reject - or even disapprove - of his orange savior.

I have known for some time that Trump is far more corrupt that folks seem to think Clinton is, and were already seeing severe risk of conflict of interest pervading the Trump administration, both in Trump's own business practices and his selections for advisor and cabinet positions. But did you know that populism and populist leaders are associated rather broadly with increased corruption?

Transparency International said in its annual Corruption Perceptions Index for 2016 that in countries with populist or autocratic leaders, "instead of tackling crony capitalism, those leaders usually install even worse forms of corrupt systems."

Corruption is what happens in the dark, behind closed doors. Already Trump has made the government less transparent by cutting important lines of communication between agencies and the public. He's also doing his best to impair the ability of an independent press to report on his activities. These are all very common signs of governments veering toward autocracy and/or fascism. My sincere hope is that the GOP will have the balls to decide preserving the nation is more important than conceding our democracy to Trump in exchange for their legislative agenda.

One more enlightening video I saw on the Oreilly Show

The phrase I always found myself least likely to hear after "Wow, teachers are fucking rich!"

It might surprise you, but O'Reilly's actually done some great work over the years. While he's steadfast in his views, he has given some excellent interviews(his interview with Marilyn Manson being one of the best I've ever seen the performer give). I've also seen Bill argue and make counterpoints to people on his program that I know he agrees with. And he has a determined pro-education stance which has led him to write multiple history books, likely stemming from his background as a teacher.

Now he is by no means perfect. His response to the sexual harassment claims against Roger Ailes has been troubling at best. But he's not just another alt-right mouthpiece the way he is portrayed(or the way some on his network, such as Sean Hannity, appear to be). I think you do yourself a disservice to immediately discount him, even if you disagree with his views.

It's not, but the president is only one of a NUMBER of factors in the stock market. Let's also remember that the stock market hit record highs under President Obama's administration, and the GOP was willing to do everything except give him any credit whatsoever for that.

I'm not saying that Trump's business ties haven't boosted investor confidence thereby leading to a stock market rise, but he's only one cog in a MASSIVELY complex machine when it comes to stock values.
