What the hell did I just watch? The atmosphere, production design, music, etc was all awesome, but geez, nothing made ANY sense at all. Story was confusing, a majority of the characters were unlikable, etc.

On the other hand, there a certain appeal in the sheer level of 'weirdness' in this movie. I happen to really like weird shit.

So yeah I don't know man. Very flawed movie with some really cool ambiance.

I used to just blatantly say this movie sucked. But after watching it again (a couple times) I just realized it sucks as a batman movie. As some weird trippy christmas movie that features a bunch of distorted batman characters, it's actually pretty good. I really would have liked to see tim burton do a 3rd featuring the scarecrow (howard stern or not)

I watched Rango last night. For me, it's tied with The Spongebob Movie as Nickelodeon's best movie. Quite good, and I liked how it didn't try to emulate Pixar and Dreamwork's art style like so many other movies have. Plus, I appreciated the fact that it was aimed at a rather older audience than, say, Ice Age or Open Season or most of those other non-Pixar/Dreamworks CGI movies have been. This is my pick for movie of the year so far, as I enjoyed it more than Kung Fu Panda 2.

i remember seeing the trailer for this on TV when it first was being played in theaters. i thought it looked interesting and all these years later i finally sat down and watched it.

the first thing i noticed was the shitty "quality." it definitively has the i-didn't-spend-a-lot-of-money look to it. a highlight in the film was the totally random nude scene. overall, it was an okay movie. it definitely got me thinking what i would do and how i would react if i was in a similar situation.

I thought it was the worst movie I've watched. Seriously. I like a lot of terrible shit. But I hated Antichrist.

Same here, not sure why people love Von Trier so much, plus I hate how snobby critics love Antichrist yet they see something like Cannibal Holocaust, I Spit On Your Grave or A Serbian Film and they just say "IM OFFENDED AND DISGUSTED 1 STAR YOU SUCK AT LIFE AND FILMMAKING".

If your a misogynist, like me, then you would have thoroughly enjoyed the film.

But in all seriousness I did enjoy the film and I thought Cannibal Holocaust was liked by critics but just universally hated for the animal scenes.

Actually yes, even though people consider it's OK to kill a spider IRL just because they are ugly but as soon as you make a film which shows that because it can it's sickening and immoral . Besides, they ate the animals so I guess it's OK?

Apocalypse Now also has the slaughtered water buffalo bit, which ended up getting it a poor rating from the American Humane Association, but beyond that I've never heard much of a stink about it. I guess it just comes down to people's consideration of the rest of the film.

But I think that the water buffalo was not shot for the film but rather it was going to happen and they decided to film it. In Cannibal Holocaust, the animals were killed for the film and KillerJuan77, I understand what your saying but I'm thinking the turtle scene was what most people remember and disgusted by it.

If I didn't know any better, I'd wager that Tim Burton wrote an entirely different story and decided like halfway through to turn it into his new Batman film.

I just watched antichrist last night. I am left feeling awkward and confused.

I liked it, I'm gonna watch it with the folks and the rest of the bible group tomorrow night.
