Shenmue 3 Kickstarter
Re: Shenmue 3 Kickstarter
Honestly been expecting this for months now. For what their goal is a year and a half never seemed feasible. I'm fine with the delay. Means they don't make a rushed product. PS4 is so loaded on games this year I have plenty to occupy me until 2018.

I would have been more shocked if someone honestly believed that there wouldn't have been some sort of a delay until next year.

Does this even count as a delay? Did anyone REALLY expect a Shenmue game to have only a two year development time?

If I remember correctly (and I could be wrong), they did initially say that they hoped (to some degree) to release by 2017? If so, that would technically be considered a delay.
But I agree with you. I don't think anyone even remotely familiar with Shenmue was really expecting it to come out that soon.

Two years is barely enough for preproduction for Shenmue.ElkinFencer10 wrote:Does this even count as a delay? Did anyone REALLY expect a Shenmue game to have only a two year development time?

Meanwhile we're getting like ~3 newer Yakuza games lately.

Yeah and you can tell. The updates they send to backers just showed off a new character model. We are looking December 2018 at the earliest. I would not be amazed at a 2019 release. Whatever the case, it is Shenmue. I will wait as long as it takes.MrPopo wrote:Two years is barely enough for preproduction for Shenmue.ElkinFencer10 wrote:Does this even count as a delay? Tbf, I expected this.
Let it happen. Make this game the best in the series!
