Do You Have Any Unpopular Gaming Opinions?

The term objective might be out of place in this context, I agree, but it's a fact that some games hold up better than others when analyzed from a game desing POV. DKC is from a technical/design POV better than Generic Nintendo 64 3D platformer Number 1, even if both were as enjoyable for you as a kid.

Do I need to actually clarify how I feel about Banjo Kazooie or something? I feel like you think I like it a lot more than I actually do.

FWIW, I think DKC is better than Banjo. Especially DKC2.

There are tons of great games on the system - Mischief Makers, both Zeldas, Ogre Battle 64, GoldenEye 007, Super Smash Bros, Hybrid Heaven, Doom 64, Paper Mario, Harvest Moon 64, Mega Man 64, Waialae Country Club, NFL Blitz, the list goes on...

see, i like exactly one of the games you listed (paper mario, and i dont' like it THAT much). seriously the only N64 game i've ever truly enjoyed or said "i want to sit down and play this" is Super Mario 64. hate hybrid heaven, hate harvest moon, hate mega man 64 (and legends), hate mischief makers, i think jet force gemini is OKAY but that's it. i dunno, i just don't really care for it. not my kind of system.

plus that controller. ugh. at least it's better than the DC controller.

Jet Force Gemini pretty much turns to crap after you hit the halfway mark when it forces you to backtrack and get all those stupid bears.

The VMU slots block my fingers from resting comfortably on the back of the controller. It's aggravating.

I might try out a 3rd party controller sometime though.

I mostly use MadCatz controllers but I like the normal one

Those MadCatz ones are good then? I've been thinking of picking one of them up. They seem like they'd be a bit more comfortable. I like how they look a bit larger and it seems like the 'wings' arch outward instead of being parallel.
