So what have you guys been watching lately?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I didn't notice any of the symbols until they were mentioned in that wordpress blog that I saw. But yes, it does seem to have a lot of symbols. Very creative of the director/writers to utilize them.

The question wasn't did you see them, rather, if you think all the fans are stretching like crazy to make some things symbolic. Some are so far fetched I find them ridiculous.

Maybe the better question would be "what did you find symbolic, if anything?".

Just got caught up on Grimm, this show has been really solid lately. For those that are caught up:
How crazy was it that Hank saw the dude "retract" on the last ep? Nick can't let him think he's going crazy right? That would be totally douche-y. Your partner needs to have your back, he's got to get him in on the deal.

Personally, I didn't find anything symbolic because I'm not that good at analyzing a movie. I do enjoy reading what some of the fans found and I agree with many of them.

What were some of the crazy symbolic things you heard about?
Some fans viewed the last scene as the Last Supper and the onion rings were like taking communion. I didn't find it to be that far fetched because there was a lot of stuff to do with the Catholic church in the entire series.

I think my favorite hidden symbol is the Members Only Guy. In the first episode, one of Tony's crew was mocked for wearing the out-of-date Members Only jacket. Tony denied his request to retire from his crew and his wife suggested that he take Tony out. He said that in a year or two, Tony could be gone. He hung himself. In the final episode, the guy at the bar was wearing the Member's only jacket and presumably may've been the one who took Tony out. The hitman who shot Silvio was also wearing MO jacket.

I've been watching a marathon on the Science Channel of Dark Matters:Twisted but True, a show focusing on strange, dark, and disturbing events in scientific history. Some of the stuff they talk about are unproven rumors and myths, but they show evidence to show the potential truth of those rumors. It's basically a show focusing on real life or supposedly real life stuff that'd make good material for a dark Sci Fi show like the Twilight Zone. The coolest part? It's narrated by John Noble. If you watch Fringe, you know what a perfect choice he is for this show. Hearing his voice while I was channel surfing is what made me actually stop and watch. He adds a nice eeriness to the show

Yes. Didn't take too long of a break after The Sopranos. I'm on episode 5 of Season 1 and am enjoying the show. I really like how they really made the set pieces accurate for the time period.

It's interesting to see the differences between the shrink in The Sopranos & Mad Men. In the latter show, the shrink just sits there listening and recording the conversation versus Dr Melfi in the Sopranos engaging Tony with questions/thoughts. Hard to believe that the 60s were so backwards at times.

I re-watched the first two seasons of Archer. Precious few shows can make me actually laugh out loud, and this is one of them. Also been passively re-watching Arrested Development on my second monitor while doing schoolwork and playing games, since that's the other one.

Arrested Development is the best live-action comedy show ever, besides Monty Python.
