You are making empty statements.
Tanooki wrote: Too much was done so wrong with it from concept to execution that for the pile of games that came out I feel in the end maybe 1-3% actually were worth owning and could be enjoyable as it was just so so poorly handled it was ridiculous. WiiU is kind of the same given they had the choice of doing something great and having third party support and threw that to the wind.
You can't say this and leave it at that. List them. List every single thing they did wrong. How did they poorly handle the system? How did Nintendo throw away third party support? Third party support isn't a, "Please make games for our system!"

"Well ok! Here you go!"

It is about money it is about towing the line and giving in to demands. Remember why EA refused to make games for the Dreamcast? Because they would not allow EA to utilize it's own on-line system for it's sports games.

Nintendo screwed itself over because it didn't make the Playstation 4 or Xbox One. That is what it did wrong. It didn't make the same old thing. You act like trying to do something different is wrong and it isn't.

If you were Nintendo, I would love to hear what you would do to fix the situation.

If I was Nintendo I would give 750 million dollars to Sega to remake Panzer Dragoon Saga, release Shenmue 3 and just for the lulz, make Seaman 2.

Bogus can you name any non-ported non-first or second party games that were rated well and really enjoyed by people? It's a short list, too short. You got stuff like (kind of) Klonoa, the Munchables, Indiana Jones(which rated nice due to Fate of Atlantis being on there too), Tales of Symphonia 2, Carnival Games?, Dead Space Extraction, the 2 Resident Evil rail shooters, FF Chocobos Dungeon, Geometry Wars Galaxies(sorta, xbox game really), House of the Dead Overkill, Lost in Shadow, Red Steel 2, Trauma Center, and Tatsunoko Vs Capcom. There's a few others but also were on PS2, PC or xbox so they don't really count. Some of those I listed are debatable considering the ratings they got as well.

The fact is the only reason my statements on the Wii and WiiU are empty is because you have a problem with the reality of the situation and I got over the reality of it awhile ago and made peace with it. I can't take your word for it over family who is a third party nintendo (and the other 2) licensee who is a producer for a video game company. They know their shit far more than a fan does from the outside.

There's nothing wrong with doing something different, I never said it was a crime. It is a problem when you take it too far to the point you drive off the lifeblood of your system, a userbase and profitability and that's what the Wii (motion plus, gen behind) and WiiU (tablet controller, gen behind) did. Personally with the WiiU if it could be stepped back a few years, I'd try and find a happy medium between what third parties wanted and what I wanted as a hardware maker. They came in with a $300 system that they'd have been barely profitable/even on had it sold well like Wii did. Had they decided that $400-500 was more acceptable like MS and Sony had done, they could have stepped up the hardware a hell of a lot more while still keeping that tablet within the realm of affordability. Imagine that WiiU with the output around what the One can do (it's a little weaker than PS4) and the tablet controller is had now brought to market in the price range of those 2 systems. They'd have been given the ports, been able to do the games they wanted within their vision, and they'd be in a better place. They wanted to go in cheap and with a gimmick again to try and re-disrupt the market like with the Wii and it backfired.

The only problem with the "if only Nintendo matched specs" argument is that, in the past when they did (or had higher specs) third parties did not support the system the way people are claiming they would.

When the Wii U launched, Nintendo had said if there's an attachment rate of one title per system, they're making a net profit on that transaction. So this, bleeding money argument due to cost of the system is silly. Nintendo's financials have been down due to operation costs of restructuring the company; Wii U's profit margin not covering that. That doesn't specifically mean that the Wii U is bleeding out the company by existing.

Other third party games on Wii that were good?
Madworld
No More Heroes 2
Little Kings Story
Kore Gang
Zack and Wiki

I'm pretty sure 17+ good third party exclusive Wii games constitutes as "any".

The reality of the situation is, Nintendo probably isn't going to drop a $500 system. Ever. They want people to be able to afford their hardware. And even if they did that, they would get criticized for it.

It might be important to realize that there is, and has been, a double standard for Nintendo for quite some time in the video-game-fan-space.

I can respect your opinions but I think the problem others are having with what you are saying is the way you say everything like it is a fact and any other opinion is just wrong. Saying "reality" as if we should all see this law of nature is kinda forceful. I have thought from reading many of your posts they seem better fitted for the unpopular game opinion thread.

Also if 3rd party is important why do you not consider multi console ports? If you don't count 3rd party multi console games sony and microsoft would be severely lacking too without 1st party being considered.

I don't understand how any creature with functioning ears and eyes can enjoy MadWorld.

See, it's comments like this that prove to us that you're really just a Nintendo-hating troll. At least Hobie stays out of the DX threads.
