Sigh
Time to take another break from this boring, inactive forum. This thread is dead. Maybe I'll post again in a month or so...the amount of time it takes for there to actually be any activity on racketboy
Given half your posts in this thread are a whole bunch of large images and then like 2 sentences, you're not giving folks a lot to reply to.

Forums just aren't as active as they once were. It seems to be the case on all forums I frequent. We have discussed this before though... Reddit and things like social media groups have replaced them. I don't like it, because the sense of community is lost, but it's just the way things are going on the internet.
I don't have much to contribute to wrestling discussions right now to be honest. I haven't watched any since Elimination Chamber and Revolution. I hear NXT last week was great and Dynamite last night was also very good. I might catch up with both. I don't have the patience for 3 hours or Raw or Smackdown, maybe I will skip through them, but I feel the numerous clips online keep me up to speed anyways.

“I am going to ruin wrestling. I am going to ruin wrestling. For every fan. For every wrestler. For everyone. At WrestleMania, I make history by winning a 17th championship and I finally force you to forget the name Ric Flair. You will forever say the name John Cena. But even worse I’m going to win that championship and retire with it. I am taking it home with me. And leaving all of you to create an all new toy belt because the real one comes home with me. I will be the last real champion in WWE. Revenge is best served cold and I pay you back by ripping your heart out and forcing you to watch as I just walk away.”
That was a pretty sweet promo from Cena. I hope he wins at Mania. It would certainly lead some very interesting feuds and then it will be captivating waiting to see who will drag him into the ring and finally retire him to win the belt.

Well, it's obvious that WWE and AEW are still competing with each other, to see which company can deliver the worst product. Seriously, between the endless tyranny of Moxley, Mercedes, and Toni Storm and the coldest Wrestlemania build we've seen in some time, it feels like the Dark Ages of Wrestling at the moment.
AEW gives us yet another shitty pay per view finish on a pretty pointless show. Old school TNA booking in full effect. The most interesting things on the road to Wrestlemania right now are Naomi being a supervillain, and the real-life drama between Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton that has overshadowed the awful build to their Mania match. Cena's heel turn already feels wasted, as Cody just isn't brining anything interesting to the table. In fact, Cena buried him in their last promo battle and pretty much said what everyone thinks about Cody.
I don't know man, wrestling needs a kick in its rear right now or something. What is going on? Tony Kahn and Triple H seem to be trying to outdo each other as horrible bookers. They both don't seem to give a fuck. They are both coasting and not trying to deliver a great product. AEW isn't the alternative, it's just another WWE. Actually, it's starting to feel more and more like another TNA

It's more like an emulation of WWE in my opinion. It gives me major Corporate Ministry/McMahon Higher Power and endless Bloodline bollocks vibes. It reminds me of how stubborn WWE would be when fans would beg them to call an audible and bring terrible storylines to an end, and they would just keep doubling down.
It seemed kinda obvious Swerve wouldn't win from the moment they did that segment with Hangman ("You burned down my home!", "you deserved it", "I know!", "what did you say?", I said... I know".
Of course everyone hoped they would just pivot and prematurely end Moxley's boring reign.

I think the only thing on Dynasty worth seeking out and watching was the triple threat with Omega, Ricochet, and Speedball. It was fantastic.
Everything else was garbage and I am seeing some extreme anger on many corners of the internet. I've even seen surprise from some AEW diehards about how negative the reaction has been. I think a lot of AEW diehards are finally starting to see just how bad things are getting. AEW is really on the borderline. I think they lost some fans this weekend and I think others are on the verge of abandoning this company. They are in dire straits right now. NXT is getting better ratings weekly. That's embarrassing. Solomonster in his Dynasty review expressed apathy towards this company that he once was pretty high on.
"I almost don't care what they do going forward. Why does any of it matter?" - Solomonster
And that's the key thing. Some of the most diehard AEW fans are finally tapping out and saying, "Fuck this company"
That's not good. WWE will always do well. Even now, when many people are calling this one of the worst Wrestlemania build ups of all time, I'm not worried about WWE. WWE is both the coke AND the pepsi of pro wrestling. AEW on the other hand, you better watch out. You really are in danger of becoming the next TNA. AEW's status has fallen significantly, and the only people still acting like everything is great, saying that the product has improved in recent months (bullshit it has) and that Dynasty was fantastic really sound like fanboys at this point. The type of people who are so invested in the company that it can feed them shit and they will still shout from the rooftops that AEW is the greatest thing ever. People have said that AEW fans can be delusional and extremely defensive towards criticism, but it seems more true now than ever because AEW's product is the worse it has ever been and the metrics back that up. The people out there saying "Another great pay per view from AEW!" are the kind of people who could be standing in a burning house and not even feel the heat on their skin.
AEW is dying and that is NOT an exaggeration

I wasn't going to post this, but it just got more interesting.
The Rock posted an image of himself wearing a NJPW shirt on Instagram whilst trying to solve a rubix cube.
NJPW just posted the same photo.
I wonder what they are up to or working on.

I heard about this and thought it was BS that it meant they were working on something, but NJPW posting the same pic does lend this rumor some credence.
We'll see. Both WWE and AEW need SOMETHING exciting right now. There is zero excitement for Wrestlemania and I think people actively HATE AEW right now in a way I haven't seen since TNA's worse days.
Life is so surreal, as there seems to be a lot of positivity towards TNA now, and the garbage reputation they once had has surprisingly been taken up by AEW. I'm not sure where it all leads though. Will WWE buy TNA? It feels like WWE wants to use TNA against AEW somehow, but frankly I don't think it's even necessary as AEW is burying itself. Aside from match quality which you can never really hate on AEW for (Speedball and Ricochet have been a ton of fun to watch since arriving there), their product is currently in the gutter. WWE is boring right now (except for NXT, but not everyone cares about the C show no matter how good it may be), but AEW is just BAD.
Ultimately though, mainstream wrestling kind of sucks right now. Your option is one shitty company and one shittier company
I hope things get better or I may have to actually start checking out TNA

It would take so little to turn things around for both companies, that's the sad thing
For WWE:
Push LA Knight and stop wasting him on midcard shit
Take the title off of Cody
Get Jey Uso out of the main event
Turn Bianca Belair heel
Turn Rhea Ripley heel
Fire Damian Priest
Give Dominick Mysterio a title just for the heel heat
Push Chad Gable and stop making him just a joke character
Ditch a lot of these Mexican wrestlers that no one gives a crap about like the LWO, Dragon Lee, and Legado del Fantasma who are all nobodies, and even Rey Mysterio who hasn't been in an exciting program in eons, and go all in on Fenix and Pentagon.
Push Bron Breakker and just go full babyface with him already
Get CM Punk and Seth Rollins off TV for a while, everything they've been involved in has been shit. Their story lines are dumb and make no sense.
Give Drew McIntyre a MASSIVE heel push
Push your goddamn tag divisions properly, both the male AND female ones
Give Cena the world title
Stop wasting Chelsea Green's title run on LOSERS like Michin and Zelina Vega
Take the damn women's IC title off of Lyra Valkyria. She sucks.
Fire Charlotte Flair, let her go to AEW where Tony Kahn can kiss her ass even more than he kisses Mercedes Mone and Toni Storm's asses.
For AEW:
WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING WITH CHRISTIAN?!?!?!
Why are MJF and Bobby Lashley being wasted on the lamest, fucking story line ever?
Where is DMD?
FUCKING FIRE JON FUCKING MOXLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TAKE THE GODDAMN TITLES OFF OF MERCEDES MONE AND ESPECIALLY TONI FUCKING STORM. YOU HAVE OTHER WOMEN ON YOUR GODDAMN ROSTER BESIDES THOSE TWO WOMEN TONY KAHN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's like this fucking company can't go anywhere because of Mox, Mercedes, and Toni Storm
Turn the bucks face again. This heel run is dead in the water
Fire Adam Cole and end the Undisputed Era crap
This company should be pushing Swerve, MJF, Hangman Adam Paige, Christian, Omega, Will Ospreay, and Lashley (with MVP) as top guys. Figure out who your damn stars are Kahn. This company needs some kind of hierarchy. Those are your main eventers. Guys like Cassidy, Samoa Joe, Speedball, Takeshita, Okada, Ricochet, etc. can be upper midcarders and you can swap them into the main event from time to time.
What the hell happened to the four pillars? Apparently Darby's dumb ass is climbing mountains somewhere, Jack Perry has dissapeared, MJF is being made to look like a clown on TV, and does Sammy Guevara even still exist?
Jericho should be a manager...or just bring back the inner circle
Can we bring the tag division back? What the hell happened to it? Hurt Syndicate is over, but they're doing nothing for the division and I question Lashley even being there in the first place.
When is AEW gonna realize what they have in Big Bill? That guy is better than Wardlow EVER was.
FIRE TOP FLIGHT
Keep Leila Grey because she's fine as fuck
and if you're not gonna do anything worth a damn with them, fire Action Andretti and Lio Rush too.
I hate to say it, but without Malakai Black, Julia, Murphy, and King all feel like dead weight on the roster
For the love of all that is holy DO NOT ever bring back Eddie KIngston

I think that's just out of boredom to be honest and mild excitement from them working with WWE, which is surreal.
TNA itself isn't particularly exciting to me. I still watch some of their PPVs and the odd match and clips online, but none of it is particularly mind-blowing. The funniest thing is watching the crowd chant "she's a racist" at Tessa Blanchard. I liked Tessa though. She had a great feud with Sami Callihan. Their match at Slammiversary 2019 was so good. I think TNA 2019 - 2023 was ironically better than it is now. They are losing a lot of great talent to WWE and AEW.
I think he's going to return soon. Sammy requested to go to ROH and do a lighter schedule for a while, since becoming a new father, OR is being punished for not following concussion protocols last year OR is being punished again for saying he'd "literally r*pe Mercedes Mone" now Mercedes is in the company, depending on who you ask.
The problem AEW has is it makes it difficult as a fan to get invested in their characters. And yeah, they do need to establish a more clearly defined set of main eventers and mid carders and then your lower card. The lack hierarchy hurts their product, because it makes all of the titles feel diluted and meaningless.
Honestly though, outside of the Death Riders crap and Moxley, I am not disliking watching it this year. There are things I still find entertaining, like the Ospreay and Fletcher, and Swerve and Ricochet feuds. Ricochet is also very entertaining as a heel. The guy legitimately turned things around and proved he does have something.
And yeah, Mike Bailey is great.
