I guess it's a good thing I changed the channel during that stupid interview with the Queen of the Ring D-List losers, as I'm hearing now that one of those girls said something that pissed everyone off.
Tony Schiavone: "What's something you have learned about professional wrestling from working on the movie?"
Random chick from some movie: "I learned that you know you're winning before you go out there and have your match"
Crowd: *crickets* "Did she just say that live on PPV between matches...?"
Kamille is trying to cover for her by claiming she didn't mean what people think she meant by saying that (obviously that matches are pre-determined and scripted) and actually she meant like "you're all winners", because "you're so determined by what you do", "so it isn't about winning and losing" etc. I don't buy that for one minute though

That was...a dumb thing for her to say
I loved when Christian tried to pin Cope while Mox was choaking him out. I would have had Mox release the hold at that point and get the REAL match started with maybe another 10 minutes of the three of them fighting it out with the members of Christian's entourage eventually getting involved while Jay White and Yuta come back out from the back fighting each other. If ever there was a time where overbooking was warranted, I think it was here. Eventually, I'd have Cope take out Mox, then Nick Wayne or Luchasaurus pull Cope off of Mox and then Christian steals the pinfall victory. A victory he actually had to fight for after thinking that he was going to get an easy win.
and you could still have ended the show with an attack by Swerve.

I agree. It was really dumb to have Christian be the one to be beaten, when he had only been in the match one minute and was completely fresh. He was beaten by a tired Moxley who had been wrestling for 25 minutes. Dumb and terrible booking! The idea Christian wouldn't have his entourage as back up also seems inconceivable.
They could have at least had Killswitch/Luchasaurus return and turn on Christian to stop him from winning if they were dead set on him not winning. That would have least had a storyline reason for the placement of the signing in the match and advanced a new angle.
They are kind of lucky the whole crowd didn't completely turn on the event after that! At least it wasn't as bad as Royal Rumble 2015 or Wrestlemania 32. They were lucky there. Swerve at the end kind of saved it.

Looking at them today, Mox seems like the worst member of the Shield and Roman the best
The more time passes the more it seems like Vince McMahon wasn't so crazy.

I ended up attending WWE Monday Night Raw at Madison Square Garden in NY last night. My girlfriend's a big fan of WWE, so when she saw they were going to be in town, she scored two tickets for us. I think the move to Netflix has drastically improved the live show. When we went last year, there were so many ad breaks during the show, that I felt like it took everything down a notch. My understanding is that the Netflix stream still has some ads, but it seems like it's not nearly as many, because the show felt much more streamlined.
One of the dark matches included Penta, who I've enjoyed in my limited time watching wrestling with my girlfriend, so it was really cool to see him. Another highlight for me was boo'ing the crap out of Logan Paul. The fans also started chanting "F you, Logan" -- but I heard it was muted on the stream. Lol.
The main match of the night was CM Punk versus Seth Rollins in a cage match. I'm also a fan of CM Punk, so I was happy to be attending a show where I'd get to see him wrestle. Overall, it was a really fun night!

There's a lot of hate online right now for how AEW has treated Christian and it's well deserved. Some of that hate is being directed at Edge which I personally don't agree with. The problem here isn't Edge not putting someone over, a lot of people would have actually been happy to see Edge win and I think his AEW run has been solid. The problem is:
A: WE ARE SO SICK AND FUCKING TIRED OF MOX HOLDING THE AEW TITLE, and I'm not JUST talking about his current title run
B: YOU MADE CHRISTIAN LOOK LIKE AN IDIOT
Sigh
On a more positive note, Raw this week had some fun moments and I'm glad Note was there live and had a good time
Chad's luchador storyline is funny. The "New" New Day is awesome. Roman destroying Seth and Punk was fun. The Iyo,Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair thing is interesting. Iyo slapping the fuck out of both Bianca and Rhea was hilarious. Bron Breakker continues to be awesome.
On a negative note, Jey Uso still sucks and Bayley is sadly back to where she was before her Rumble win a year ago. I'm also sick of WWE showing me celebrities in the crowd every two minutes

Cody delivered some rambling nonsense promo after doing his typically stupid, "What do you want to talk about" catchphrase

WWE had this awesome Cena heel turn and it's going on two weeks now with no meaningful follow up beyond a bunch of boring Cody promos.
I have to praise WWE's women's divisions again. We've had some fun title changes in recent months with the women on all three brands, including a new title for Chelsea Green, and we've had interesting stories and feuds for the ladies as well. Chelsea winning her title match on Smackdown due to her getting a new secret service member was awesome. Women's wrestling is the best thing in WWE at the moment. We have multiple awesome champions unlike the two stale ones in AEW and they've all got entertaining stuff going on and even some of the non champions are holding my interest:
I'm actually astonished at how bad things have gotten in AEW. Beyond Harley Cameron, who I kind of want to see in WWE at this point, women's wrestling in AEW kind of sucks.

This is the most human version of Cena I've seen in his entire career. Cena being raw about all the booing he's received throughout his career makes sense given the royal treatment Cody has received from the current WWE fanbase. Even Roman Reigns got booed quite a bit when Vince chose him as the new face of the company. I think Cody has benefited from a much more obedient fanbase than we've seen in WWE in years because there is literally nothing about Cody that stands out in any way. He has a generic look. He can't cut a promo and his wrestling ability is average. You put Cody alongside Hogan, Austin, Rock, and even Cena and he seems so out of place. Even Roman has more star power. Cody's a mid-carder who has been given the biggest main event push I think I have ever seen in WWE. He's a product of booking and nothing else. Nobody in my entire life as a WWE watcher has received the push that he has, not even Cena.
Cena was talking for like 12 minutes with his promo and I was engaged throughout. Cody went out, said a few words that someone in the back probably wrote for him and quickly left. In my mind I kept thinking, "imagine what a fiery promo we would have gotten from Dustin Rhodes were he in Cody's position". Cody doesn't know how to convey real emotion. He feels like a robot and I never feel a connection to him in any way. All of Dusty's charm went to Dustin.
Cena's heel turn is awesome, but it's wasted on Cody. Imagine if this had happened in 2014 during the Yes Movement or during the 2011 Summer of Punk. Frankly, even a feud with Roman Reigns right now would be more interesting than him feuding with Cody.

Sigh
Time to take another break from this boring, inactive forum. This thread is dead. Maybe I'll post again in a month or so...the amount of time it takes for there to actually be any activity on racketboy
