Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Went to a movie marathon at a friends house. We watched some Don Hertzfeldt cartoons, followed by Yellowbeard, Hawk the Slayer, and Battlefield Baseball.
Yellowbeard is an often-forgotten comedy about pirate hijinks, and was also Marty Feldman's final movie. Even though its received a lot of negative reviews, including being named the worst of all of John Cleese's movies, I still love it and give it a good viewing from time to time. If you enjoy Eric Idle, John Cleese, Cheech and Chong, Marty Feldman, Madeline Kahn, and Peter Boyle, it's worth watching the film.
Hawk the Slayer is a sword and sorcery movie that suffers from some terrible acting and dialogue...and I still love it. Sure, it's cheesy and low budget, but it's also a lot of fun watching Hawk stare down EVERYONE. It also gives names to each of the friends he acquires, instantly making it better than the Dungeons and Dragons movie, where the Dwarf and Elf were literally called Dwarf and Elf the entire time.
Battlefield Baseball is...Japanese. It's pretty ridiculous and pretty terrible. The entire time we watched it, I would wait for something ridiculous to happen and would then lean over to a friend and demand to know "How is this better than Hawk the Slayer?"

I watched this years ago when trying to watch everything we could with Python members in it. It wasn't amazing, but we still enjoyed it. Well that's disappointing. I remember seeing a trailer for it and wanting to watch it.Battlefield Baseball is...Japanese. It's pretty ridiculous and pretty terrible. I'm a big film buff... and I have quite the extensive collection. I like to have "Movie Night" at my place... and will usually play Double Features! Anyhow... the last movie I've seen was Takashi Miike's 13 Assassins... awesome movie! Half drama, half action with some comic relief sprinkled on top... they don't make them like this anymore. Loved it.
Next up on my Double Feature Movie Night will be Hobo With A Shotgun and Amer on Blu-ray! Should be fun!

me and my wife do double-feature nights too. We pick anything, 2 movies from the same series, same director, same actor, takes place in Summer, underwater, on a plane, on Christmas, has aliens, etc. Then each of us picks one film that fits that criteria. It's an awesome way to decide what to watch. Especially seeing how the film I picked will complement or contrast the one she picked.
