ExedExes wrote:A recent issue that was fixed in 0.39.0/1.9.0 was an imbalance in IVs in correlation to a Pokémon's Pokédex entry number. It basically means that if you caught a Pokémon with a low number like Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle, you were almost always going to get one with low IVs, especially on the ATK stat. A higher entry like Eevee at #133 was almost guaranteed perfect ATK of 15, which combined with the popularity of the Eev-olutions like Vaporeon and its dominating water type would make them that much more difficult to defeat in gyms. But they fixed that error, as pointed out by our friends at the Silph Research Group....
Well, that explains why every Bulbasaur I've caught has pretty much sucked, stat-wise :?

Any-woo, went out again yesterday for a quick walk. Caught a couple more Magikarp, Slowpoke, Psyduck and a Tentacool. Also trained a Lvl 3 Gym up to Lvl 4 by battling a 1700CP Snorlax with my Vaporeon. It was worth it to put my Fluffball Arcanine in there. As of right now, he's still at the Gym, which means he's lasted over 26 hours.

Hurray for more coins and stardust.

26 hours! Very nice. Around here that's quite a feat, for Valor. If you come down here as Mystic you'll last forever! My battle route still has 2 Mystic gyms at level 8 and 10. Valor needs to rise up again in the worst possible way.

My new 10km egg was the nightmare that I didn't ever want to happen, an Eevee. The appraisal was terrible. Stats "would get the job done in battle". Undoubtedly thanks to the aforementioned Pokédex/IV bug, Eevees won't nearly be as strong as they used to be. I'm glad I got 3 of each Eev-olution with good ATK ratings before the bug was fixed, and each one has one of the 3 charge attacks for its type. I'm gonna use future Eevee candies to power all 9 of them up, unless a regular one appraises very well. I now have 9 new 5km eggs that I'll incubate all at once after I get a new Google Play card.

Today I took out a Mystic gym that just had a 2200CP Vaporeon; Exeggutor finished it well, the defender only had Aqua Tail. Collected my x2 bonus (Flareon's been out west for over 2 weeks!). I lost that one back to Mystic later on, but I just got back from evicting Instinct from the flagpole gym that was at Level 3 (Wigglytuff/Gyarados/Vaporeon). I didn't have to waste a lot of items thanks to lots of good dodging. It will last a few hours at this rate.

Tomorrow will be a small re-supply in the evening for a few hours until I can see another opportunity to battle again.

Pushed the gym at the local library up to level 10 and put my 2000+ Lapras in at 4th from the top. That gym has been Valor and at least level 8 for the last week+. I have the feeling I will have at least several days of defender bonuses.

That it will. The history looks well for that and you're near the top. My first Level 10 gym lasted a full week, but this Level 6 gym the Flareon's at is 2 weeks in. Again, it's that remote road Valor owns that doesn't lead to easy battles unless you're determined, and I think Mystic is taking the easier road which also happens to be my "battle circuit" (no relation to the Capcom beat em up).

As for the flagpole gym, it's back to Mystic and level 5 now. What else?
BUUUUT as I was about to post this, the Mystic gym that was at Level 10 for the past few days is now at Level 2 (!) Methinks Valor rose up! Stay tuned.

Fluffball has now made it for 44 hours. I have happily collected my coins for the day. I'll have to remember to try to throw something in a Gym on Sunday, since it seems to last a bit longer that way.

Go, Fluffball. Go!

Have you guys been assigning custom names to your Pokemon? I know Michi has, but I wonder how widespread it is. I'm pretty ruthless at culling my Pokemon stores, so I guess I've just not bothered, yet.

I've only renamed my Pokémon for certain situations so far. Here's an example, also important to note... DING DONG THE LEVEL 10 MYSTIC GYM IS DEAD!
Image
It's back to us now! I ended up losing it later on today, but now it's back to Valor's control once again. I name my Eee-volutions with extra numbers since I have 3 of each type.

I also got a triple bonus today with this gym!
Image
I lost that one around the same time as the previous gym today, but I went back there tonight and noticed it was Valor's once again so I trained it up and put that same Pokémon back in. It's now at Level 5, looking a lot better. I hope they will survive tonight!

Good resupplies too! At 30 super potions, and 80 regulars! I can go nuts on battling again!

67 hours (!) Is this the high-traffic location from days ago? You got a little more to go because I got a 2.5 week old gym! Even when all the other gyms fall I can still get 10/500 a day. Which is what I'm down to. I can collect now, but I'm going to scope out 1-2 more opportunities a little bit later on.
